You know you've got a good edge when you say, needs to remain in the scabbard as it's too dangerous.
I've seen people cut themselves badly through poor handling techniques.
I bought a friend of mine a SOG key knife like mine for her keyring. It's sharp. I get mine through airport security every time, just looks like a key. Anyway, she used it to cut some cable ties on her desk at work, nearly sliced her finger right off. Dumbass. Lol.
Had she had that katana she might be minus one head.
There is no substitute for a really fine edge! And handling is an issue, so I intend to be very careful after it's sharpened. I will initially practice with one of the dull ones, until I get it into muscle memory. Then I'll see if I can do some damage to some target items!
I had an idiot in high school that grabbed a knife I was sharpening on the bus to the vo tech. He drew it across his thumb...and cut it to the bone! He didn't even know he'd cut himself....

I recall doing some practice with a butterfly knife back in the day, (balisong), I'm assuming you know how they flick and twirl them to open and closed positions. Anyway, many cuts later I mastered it. My point...I wish I had a blunt one to practice with. Lol.
Deserved it. Although, that's pretty harsh I guess, I should remember that people are so clueless.
He was telling me that I didn't know how to sharpen a knife...we called him 'mouth' because he thought he knew everything.
It took 4 stitches to close!

They had a minigun I was tempted to shoot, but they had to go back to their store, because they were having ammo problems. All that was left was blank rounds, so I'll shoot it next year.
They likely had 400+ machine guns there to rent (you buy the ammunition to rent the guns). I saw about a dozen BARs in the bays (I want one, LOL), but my shoulder isn't up to that toy yet. Too close to the shoulder surgery to be going full auto on an '06!
Gotta get it healed before hunting season....
