The topics are released each Friday, new ones in five days y'all, and content creators have all weekend to post in response to those topics I set.Happy Monday and start to the working week folks, I'm here to wrap up the #weekend-engagement writing concept as featured in my
The #weekend-engagement concept is designed to help users with writing topics, to challenge their thinking and creativity and to promote great quality posting over the weekend. I also urge participants to engage with others as it's a great way to build relationships which is important to ongoing success and enjoyment on the blockchain...and it's more fun too.

Wow! Thank you very much @galenkp! I'm extremely grateful! I hope to participate in the coming prompts as well. 😊
You're welcome, it's a pleasure to support good work.
I loved having participated and sharing with you pleasant moments experienced over a weekend.
Thank you for being part of this week's topics, I'm pleased you enjoyed it and hope you 'll be back again when time permits. (New topics coming up this Friday.)
thanks for hosting as usual. nice to see some of the posts I read up there on the mentions
Thanks for supporting the concept, you're a champ! Have a good week too...Only two more days of work for me this year, tomorrow and Wednesday. Yay!
woah that sounds amazing what u gonna do with so many days off
Catch up on stuff around the house mainly and with a few friends, maybe some hiking and I have a little road trip planned. I've not got long, but will pack a lot in.
sounds great. can't go wrong with anything you listed. Road trip to Malaysia? haha But it won't really be the christmas weather here. and i believe you its prob gonna go by super fast. always be like that when im not working TT the off days just go by
Lol...if only Malaysia, I'd love to go back. I will someday for sure, we could have a burger. #hivemeetupmalaysia
I'm sure Malaysia will welcome you back. We love people coming here spending money haha.
Are you sure about burgers though? I feel like Australia would have better burgers
Hey Galen, I'm skimming through this post after being off Hive (again) for days (again). And I find myself curious to ask your perspective/opinion. When you first got on Hive what was it that gave you the drive to post and engage in your early days?
Good question.
I'm a non-social media guy, there's just too much to do in the real world to live through someone else. So, I resisted the attempts (by my brother) to get me here for six months. When I (grudgingly) arrived and started posting I changed my tune. What did it? The genuine interaction I got with others who commented on my posts and responded when I commented on theirs. I built relationships and they endured which kept me here. I started with no financial investment here so had to build my account to what I have today myself through posting and curation (some trading as I became better at crypto) but I removed the monetary gain as the "reward" and made fun the reward.
I have this ethos to this day and still have fun, I'll simply leave when it stops being fun, no exit post, just gone.
So, my answer? Engagement in relevant and meaningful ways with others.
I hope that makes sense.
Thanks, mate. This is great. I particularly like the focus on fun being the reward.
I'm not terribly motivated by financial gain as I know many others are. And I guess since I live in a rich country and have all my basic needs covered there's really no survival energy pushing me to need to make this work to feed myself or my family.
When I think about what I love most about Hive, and why I really do want to keep logging on and posting and curating, it's always the people - especially people who are, in some way different than me. I learn so much about my unconscious biases and patterns. It makes me a better, kinder, more worldly human.
But it's like I need to remember that I can get this from Hive in a way I don't get from any other platforms, anywhere.
Hmmm. Thanks for reading my out loud musings. I think I need to print a photo of the profile pic of a big handful of my favourite Hiveans and put it somewhere obvious so I see it everyday and am prompted to think... "I wonder what my mate Galen is up to today?"
!LUV
The people, those who engage in meaningful ways make it fun and that's a good reason to hang around, a much better reason than the 'financial reward' which is chump change really, when compared to the real world, my job. So, fun is the reward and I'm not surprised to hear you agree.
As for what I'm doing, I completed my last day of work for the year today, although I'll still keep an eye on things I guess. I go back reasonably soon in the new year so it's not a long break but I'll make the most of it.
I'm relaxing right now, thinking about dinner and what series ai might start in TV tonight.
I hope you're well and have a good end of the year and Christmas also. May 2024 be a good one. P
Wonderful. Enjoy your short break. May it be small-but-mighty-nourishing 🥰

Hi Galen, as I always say go ahead, I love this community and every weekend to writing fragments of life. Amazing let's for the weekend engagement between. December 24th and 25th.🎄
Weekends are the best...and we've only got a couple left in this year...it's been a difficult one for many reasons but I think 2024 will be much better and I hope it is a good one for you too.
Happy day Galen, I have the same wish in my soul for you and yours...a good year 2024 full of life, health.
Gratitude to you, for being part of this journey for everyone, with this great community.
I was delighted to participate, as always. Thank you very much for highlighting my reflection and my publication.
I have read many of the posts and they have been great reads. Congratulations to all for the good work.
Thank you so much Galen for these topics, I always find one that calls to me and inspires me.
Have a great start to the week!😀
No worries, it was a good post so made the list; there were many good posts over the weekend though, it's always difficult to narrow them down for the highlights post.
I hope you have a good week...I have Tuesday and Wednesday to go and then no more work until early 2024...I'm looking forward to a break, hopefully you get one too.
And you deserve that break, very much! I'm glad to hear that. I wonder what next week's themes will be... it's special.
Well.... work is always there but I'll take time to enjoy time with my family and what I really need right now is... nature!!!!
I don't know if you heard the news from Argentina, a tornado hit the city where I was born and then went towards the capital. I have been keeping an eye on what is happening there and hearing from my friends.
Giant hug!!!
Yes, I heard about that.
Actually, a devastating cyclone hit Cairns, Queensland (where my brother and nephew live) a couple days ago...terrible flooding, lost houses and all. The planet flexing its muscles and showing its displeasure.
I totally agree, nature reacts to what humans do. Are your brother and his family doing well?
There's been some issues for them, they'll be ok though. It's been rather bad.
In my house there, only one tree fell, but not on the house, so the people who live there are fine. But the city is destroyed and several people are dead... nature reacts.
I'm glad they are ok.
It's the only way, stare into the eyes of your fears, either overcome fears or fears will consume us.
This engagement boosting series is appreciable.
Fear is a great motivator although some don't use it that way.
Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it.
True.
Welcome and thank you.
This weekend's prompt was a good one, it just felt so natural. 🍻
And I'm back on the list again, eh? 😏
Cheers to those who posted according to this week's prompts. May these remaining few days of December 2023 be kind to you all, the same goes for 2024. ✨
Cool man, I'm glad you liked it. I was just thinking about this Friday (it's Christmas weekend) and am not sure what I'll do...but I'm sire I'll come up with something.
You're back on the list, you know it. One cannot keep one such as you down for long.
I hope the run into the death of 2023 is a good one for you, and that you've already got 2024 planned to some degree, your goals and plans to reach them.
If ever in doubt, just go with the flow. 😉
I try, man, I try... 🍻
Things are already set, it's just a matter of consistency and patience now. ☮️🙏
Thanks for highlighting my post! 😊
