The original is absolutely awesome however they opened it up and are doing activism versions.
Definitely a big hit for the version for standing Rock but my favorite one is this one...
Native American music and culture is coming back we are not going away and our second generation is already doing amazing things world.
Absolutely beautiful and powerful statement: "You don't live here, so you don't know. We do." Thanks for showcasing this video. I had not seen it before. I'm currently researching my native American background.
The bears live here, the moose live here, we live here.
I wish you all the success in uncovering your heritage because your heritage means everything. it is where you came from and it is where you are going to go...
So true. Thank you so much for your kind words. Protecting our previous resources if worth fighting for. I know I'll never stop pursuing and documenting each step of my quest. But I feel that each successive generation takes our family further from discovering this part of our history.
Take care and have a great weekend.
Oh shit. I just love this! I have some really good friends in the community and get a lot of video links to peruse. One of my friends is in a Drum up on the Rosebud Res. Remind me during the week, I'll pull up some of their vids.
I love some of the 'new' dancers. That kid that dances the rings to rap is stupid good.
I really think that the individual you were talking about recently passed away... And yes you was absolutely amazing with the ring dance or is it hoop dance...
I am definitely hoping to get a native American group going to reward native American artists as well as empower my relatives who are stuck on reservations.
Let me know, it's not like I'm a whale or anything, but...
I'm really sad to hear that guy left us. His 'interpretation' was just stunning.
Well if you have Discord we could always hook up on there and see what we could do about getting something started.
Oh yeah, this is a cool song! Nice beat and sort of powerful you know? I love the footage they used in the video too, the boxing really suits, some nice powerful images. I can see how this would inspire some emotion for sure!
Great share, and something I'll investigate some more now. Nice work!

And I especially like the second version. Having the elder speak along with that emotional and powerful music. It really does much to underscore the actions that they are taking to save the environment in their Homeland
You know, I really respect a culture that just get's on with perpetuating their culture and doesn't mind combining it with modern, relevant influences. It's great to want to hold onto the old ways, essential in fact, but nice also to create new things that can someday be looked upon as a part of that group's culture.
I only hold what I have for the future of my relations.

tokens.I love the heavy heart pounding beats of Native American music, I got my first taste/hearing via Buffy Sainte-Marie, Starwalker is one of my favorites from her.

When I go and do security at the Delta Park pow wow every year on Father's day weekend I can feel the drums for the next week in my chest...
I love the sounds of those drums, my wife does also she bought one and even though neither of us are real musical, just pounding on it sometimes helps during tumultuous times.
This is a great video. We know very little about native americans in our own country, let alone in other countries. It is great to see that at least they are doing this kind of musical statement over there. I don't know of one native Venezuelan singer or band. The government has been "promoting" native culture for 2 decades now, but that is just hipocritical statements to trick international opinion. Our indians are not better than any other group in the world.
If you see what the government has allowed chinese and russian companies do with our indigenous lands you cry. All kinds of crimes are being committed, additional to the ecological destruction.
I absolutely know and understand what you're going through and this is a huge issue worldwide for indigenous communities and people as I've stated before it would be really nice to have an indigenous peoples group that could reward these cultures and establish a safety net for them and their activism
Yes, that would be great. In the case of Venezuela has been pathetic because the leftist government even created a ministry for indigenous affairs, it appointed native venezuelan in many important possitions, but all of them sold their people's values and interest and have served the government, even when that means harming their peoples or ignoring all the horrible crimes that are being committed in those sacred lands
We need some real change and support from the indigenous Community worldwide and I think blockchain technology could hold the hope for that future
