One of tye most influential musicians on me has been the guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani. I started listening to him as a teenager and even took the time to transcribe his guitar licks onto my bass while in college. He's been a guitar teacher for many famous guitarists most notably Kirk Hammett from Metallica and Steve Vai.
This song comes from what to me is his most creative album Engines of Creation.
Satriani. Jimi Hendrix. Stevie Ray Vaughn. Albert Collins. For me that's gotta be the top four and I don't care who you pick I'll argue because I can't figure it out myself who is the best.
That's serious right there. Thank you !
No arguments here Tom. Spot on. There's some good second tier options but these four are legit.
His music, Always with me, Always with you is my alarm music every morning. 🙂
I remember fondly covering that song when i was at Berklee. I was lucky enough to be put in a great ensemble and paired with a pretty good guitarist
So awesome...I love that track. Makes me feel good, uplifted.
I always lived Day At The Beach and Regina's Blue Sky Happiness. Of course being a bass player i decided to play Day At The Beach using two hand tapping and then going into a double thumb slap version of it.
Slap dat bass.
I don't know why, but I really like saying that.
Now that is music that can wake you up, take you where you need to go and travel there at light speed. What a powerful song.
He also has a pretty fun song on one of his older albums called at the speed of light. You and satch obviously think alike!
