RE: Weekend-engagement week 18: Your music groove

I see you added the picture. Great!
This song raises emotions in anyone who has an aged mother. They aged twice faster in the last decade or so, unfortunatelly. I have written a lot about my mother here, and how hard it is for us now to do simple things like paying a visit. A 2-hour drive became a long distance, sometimes impossible to cover. Those women never imagined they wuld become old in times this hard. They lived hard times and got through successfully. Everything suggested that things were going to get better in their old age. As you narrated in your most recent post, these women were able to raise children with humble salaries or incomes and made sure we'd lack nothing. We should be repaying them the favor, and yet, we can't.

I'll say something about this beautiful lady here, Adelina: she is my godmother and I miss her a lot. She was a clever, funny, and independent woman back in the days where it was unusual to see a woman driving, for instance. She and my mother had the most beautiful relationship. They were friends, sisters-in-law, and comadres. They too have suffered the distance and lack of communication derived from so many issues we are going through.
I have the fondest memories of her and my uncle, a couple that went through thick and thin together and always put family first.
