Sounds like a great plan!
I dubbed last weekend "no chore" weekend and besides my visit to Mom's last Sunday, I played like I didn't have a smidge of responsibility for anything! It was fun.
I did some things in the evenings after work this past week. I have several sorting and organizing projects I want and need to do, so hopefully I'll work on one or two of those, I actually already started one this evening, barely, but dragging everything out gets it started and then for the decisions about what stays and goes. It's busy work, but I still kind of enjoy doing it. Things will be better when one day they are all finally done.
I've been playing at my art table for a little while. Tomorrow will see a grocery order coming in the morning, but other than that, probably work on those projects mostly and get a little food ready for Sunday. My brother's birthday is the 31st, so Mom is cooking his birthday lunch and we sisters are contributing parts. It is always fun getting so spend some time with the sibs, so I'm looking forward to that.
Me likey no chore weekends. Well done! (This weekend is a little like that for me.
It sounds like you've got a couple decent days ahead of you and I hope you attack them with vigour and passion. :)
I couldn't believe myself when I first thought of the "no chore" weekend idea. I didn't really want to do anything...LOL... and then I gave myself permission not too! It felt kind of wrong for a little while, but then it was great!
I forgot that you talked about bacon. After I got off of work and got into the kitchen to see what my supper would be, bacon wasn't part of the prior thoughts, but as I was scouring the frig, I found a whole pack of bacon that indicated tomorrow (now today) was the last day before it's expiration, so I cooked the WHOLE pack! I ate some with supper but most is in the frig and I'm sure it will be part of my breakfast. It will last more than a day now that I've cooked it. Yum !
I think it's important to allow ourselves a little slack now and then, it's sort of like self care I guess. As long as the important things are done we can always catch up on the lesser things. Finding self time, realising we need it, shouldn't make us feel guilty.
What now? A whole pack of bacon? Dang it, that's legit. ✅
It kind of made me laugh to cook the whole pack, but I didn't want to lose it.
I know it is important to take time out, it just felt funny to apply it to the whole weekend. A day? Sure! ...The whole weekend? ... That was a luxury I don't regret.
