Hello, my dear Hivers! Here I am again for another blog content. How's your weekend so far? I hope everyone's getting some good rest to tackle the start of the new week tomorrow. In today's blog, I'll be sharing our recent weekend experience as my mom and I embraced city life in less than 24 hours.
The photos above summarizes our commute journey, right from flagging down a jeepney to hopping off and walking to our specific destination in the city.
We arrived in the city around noon, and by then, our stomachs were already growling with hunger. So, we decided to dine at McDonald's. As always, it's filled with customers. But as a girlie who always champions patience, long lines are no longer my problem. Anyway, we only ordered McCrispy Chicken Fillet Ala King paired with regular fries and coke for our drinks.
After we had our lunch, we then had our first stop in the city. This time we took a stroll at Gaisano- Metro. Just in time because they are on sale. We didn't have the chance to roam every corner and section of the place, we headed directly to the dress section. My mom was looking for a dress to wear on her upcoming birthday in a few days. I must say, looking for a dress/clothes that really fits your style is sometimes a little harder to look/choose even if you already have been presented with many options. Mind you, it took my mom almost an hour to find the best dress she was looking for. But it's okay, she just wanted to be sure she wouldn't regret her own choice.
Next stop was at Best Buy Mart. Just a walking distance from Gaisano- Metro. They also sell a variety of products that customers can choose from. But for us, we only looked for ladies shorts on the first floor but in the end, my mom didn't choose anything.
Our third stop was at 138 Mall. The same with the other places we visited, 138 Mall also sells affordable products. The good thing is that inside, you can find a lot of stalls where you can choose to buy from— ranging from clothing, bags, cellphones and accessories. They also have department a store on the lower ground floor that sells more products like house appliances, decorations and many more. We roamed around but still, we didn't find anything we wanted to buy. We only enter the mall for window shopping.
Our next stop was at Gaisano- Main. As we entered the place, there were already buntings and Sinulog shirts available. Most establishments and malls have made it available most especially the sinulog merch as it's becoming in demand for sinulog-goers. For context, Sinulog Festival is a traditional celebration in Cebu City that's being held every third of Sunday of January to honor the Santo Niño(Child Jesus).
Anyway, My mom and I headed straight to the shoes and sandal area and after a thorough checking of some of the options available, I finally found my perfect choice. Afterwards, my mom decided to check the textile area. She was looking for unstitched fabric and wanted to be the one to sew it to make her own curtain. She told me that it's less expensive if she goes with this choice.
It's the end yet....
We went to the supermarket to purchase some staples. After checking out, we stopped by their bakeshop. To be honest, they have the best-tasting bread. It's perfect for my mom, who's always a fan of eating bread.
That would be our last stop. We decided to head home by 3:00 pm. Luckily, we were able to board a jeepney right away.
With this experience, all I can say is if you decide to visit the city, always prepare your pocket. The tempting products in stores and malls would make it hard for you to resist impulsive buying.
That's all for today, my dear Hivers! I hope you all enjoy reading my blog. Until next time!

Millions of people participated in Cebu City last Sunday to celebrate the Sinulog Festival, one of the most famous festivals in the Philippines. It was attended, not only by Filipinos, but people coming from different parts of the globe also went to witness the celebration. The festival now, not only consists of costumes and dances, but also contests, such as art exhibits, beauty pageants, photo contests, and singing and dancing contests.the idea your mom gave to you was good.
Yesss, your absolutely right about Sinulog @maryene . And it's really a great pride as well to be one of the people who was able to witness the festival. Anyway, thank you!
You welcome dear.
I often spend twice the amount I pay for a trip while being on the trip due to all the temptation around, lol. Really hard to resist sometimes, especially when it's about local dishes and goodies!
I couldn't agree more @gabrielatravels .
It looks like your all having fun @maryjolly I hope you enjoy the day in city. Keep safe Always.☺️
