Hi everyone! Today I'm going to talk to you about what I did last Saturday. I attended a Gay Pride week event in Argentina.
Hola a todos! Hoy les voy a hablar sobre lo que hice el sábado pasado. Asistí a un evento de la semana del Orgullo gay en Argentina.
It is a celebration carried out by the government, which does not implement policies that improve the quality of life of the LGBTTIQ + community 😜
Es una celebración que realiza el gobierno, el cual no implementa políticas que mejore la calidad de vida de la comunidad LGBTTIQ+ 😜
It is celebrated from October 30 to November 6 each year and in that week different celebrations are held for people belonging to the LGBTTIQ + community. And what is never lacking is Tango.
se festeja desde el 30 de octubre al 6 de noviembre cada año y en esa semana se realizan distintas celebraciones para las personas pertenecientes a la comunidad LGBTTIQ+. Y lo que nunca falta es el Tango.
The first day is a quiet and small event, this was held at a street intersection in Palermo, CABA (Bs. As, Argentina). The 4 streets involved were full of stands that reported on different topics.
El primer día es un evento tranquilo y chiquito, este se hizo en una intersección de calles en Palermo, CABA(Bs. As, Argentina). Las 4 calles involucradas estaban repletas de stands que informaban sobre distintos temas.
Such as comprehensive sexual education, HIV, offices that we can go to if we are discriminated against, counseling for teachers, among other things.
Como Educación sexual integral, VIH, Oficinas a las que podemos concurrir si somos discriminados, asesoría a docentes, entre otras cosas.
Also, in the middle of the street they put up a stage where all the invited queer artists presented their shows in front of hundreds of people.
There were dancers, singers, tango, comedy.
También, en el medio de la calle pusieron un escenario en donde todos los artistas queer invitados presentaron sus shows frente a cientos de personas.
Habían bailarines, cantantes, tango, comedia.
With my older sister, we had the idea of taking our little sister and her two friends to the event so they can see how fun and important it is to make diversity visible.
Con mi hermana mayor tuvimos la idea de llevar a nuestra hermanita y sus dos amigas de 14 años al evento para que vean lo divertido e importante que es que se visibilice la diversidad.
And it was an important day for me because since she was little I always tried to encourage her to respect diversity, to show her that there are different alternatives to cisheterosexuality and that she never has to feel that she is obliged to be someone she doesn't want to be.
Y fue un día importante para mí porque desde que ella es chiquita siempre traté de incentivarla a respetar a lo diverso, de mostrarle que hay alternativas distintas a la cisheterosexualidad y que no tiene que sentir nunca que está obligada a ser alguien que no quiere ser.
Always my goal as a sister was that she does not see a person who does not resemble her as something strange because that is precisely where the discrimination comes from.
Siempre mi meta como hermana fue que no vea como algo extraño a la persona que no es igual a ella porque justamente de ahí parte la discriminación.
I was lucky in this sense because Kiara (that's her name) is a very intelligent girl, who understands everything even better than the adults around her. That is something that makes me very proud because I am sure that she would never make anyone feel bad about her sexuality or her body and that also makes me happy 💓 It was a really nice day.
Tuve suerte en se sentido porque Kiara (así es su nombre) es una chica muy inteligente, que entiende todo incluso mejor que los adultos que la rodean. Eso es algo que me pone muy orgullosa porque estoy segura de que nunca haría sentir mal a nadie por su sexualidad o su cuerpo y eso también me pone contenta 💓 Fue un dia muy lindo realmente.
