Maybe you have some things there to look at but for the time I've known you, I'd not apply that label. There's a big difference between attending to one's needs and being self-centred. This world would prefer that people sacrifice themselves into dust ignoring their own needs, while teaching people to look outside themselves for fulfillment in others, things, etc. At least this is what I've observed.
If you take care of your own needs so that you can function every day, you can then be present for others and give to them, since you don't need to ask them to take care of your needs and wants for you. That is not self-centred behaviour. That is healthy behaviour.
