Ahh! That's what I was carrying in my mind lately.
I've been having a rough time after this transition of living in an unknown city on my own. So I'd simply take a break from this rushing world and teleport myself to my parents and to the love of my life 💗🥺 I've been missing them badly.

I've regular classes here and it's approximately 900km from here so the workload will not allow me to travel that much in a limited time a teleportation device is a must in my case 😅 a holiday is possible after a gap of three months though

Good reasoning and motivation to go back to where you are from I would say! We do what we have to do sometimes though, so thankfully you can talk to your family and your partner! Imagine 100 years ago when you could only write them letters and wait for one to come back from them?

Oh wow, this one is easy; at least, a location immediately came to mind which shows, if nothing else, just how boring of an individual I really have become. Of all the places on earth to go - the Egyptian pyramids, the Great Wall of China, Machu Picchu, and all the other wondrous places - I'd go back home to Calgary.
I've now spent over half my life away from the city of my youth and I have found, with each passing year, a growing sense of nostalgia and, dare I say it, homesickness. I miss the fresh air; I miss riding my bike along the riverfront paths, visiting the Zoo, and gazing at the majestic Rocky Mountains just a 45 minute drive away. I miss summer days strolling around the artsy district of Kensington, getting coffee at a cafe with live music, and then visiting the comic store and Hot Wax Records right next to it to hunt down a bootleg Rolling Stones album, and then capping the night off with a teriyaki burger with my friends at a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant.
I wouldn't even go back to visit family, save for one niece who doesn't even live in the city anymore. I'd go visit friends, find if any of my favourite haunts still exist, and laugh our asses off until they kick us out. The next day I'd wander downtown to see if one particular convenience store is still there that I used to buy ice cream sandwiches to let my neighbour's dog snack on.
Yeah, I know it'd be nothing like my youth, and I suppose I could always fly back to visit, but teleporting would be so much easier.

You know, the irony of it is that, when I left Calgary, I honestly felt I would never look back. My final year in college was very rough for me personally and I was really looking forward to a fresh start not only out of town, but on the other side of the country.
Of course one should never say never. I've only ever been back to visit once since then, but you're spot on that the good memories are there and by far outweigh the negative. I enjoy that.
Sorry to hear about your final college year being a little rough - I guess with age comes perspective, new perspective and so I'm not surprised you have a yearning to return. I think it'll be a nice moment to do so, to relive some of those moments. I hope you can make it happen.
It sucked at the time, but looking back now, it's our history that makes us who we are today. It's all good, and if it hadn't happened the way it did, who knows what butterfly effect would have occurred as a result.
What I really ought to do first is renew my passport(s). Maybe that'll lite a fire under my butt. 😀
That's an excellent way to look at it, and is exactly how I see my own past. I've had some stuff happen and without it I'd not be me right now.

Well said! I know that home is where the heart is, that's for sure. It's not even the people sometimes, like family, but friends that make it even more special. One day I too will live very far from home and I'm not sure if I will feel the same way. There's elements to what you said though that are important. The small things we used to do, check out the stores we used to frequent, doing some of the things we used to get in trouble for (thankfully just an angry word or two, not a call to the police) and other little parts about us being a bunch of little rascals when we were young. Those are some great memories you have and yes we can visit many places around the world but sometimes taking a trip back to where we grew up might be all we need.
That's exactly it! It's the small memories that I have really begun to cherish and appreciate; the warmth on a summer day strolling through the park, stopping at Tim Hortons for a coffee and donut after cycling along the river front (I laugh at that now, as my after ride snack now is a smoothy or fruit and yogurt), and even waiting for the bus in -20 weather and being happy to see the bus arrive. Oy. 😂
For personal reasons I was happy to leave Calgary at the time; you could say that I fled and could hear me cheering as I left the Province entirely. But there are good memories there, and I do miss it. I'm very happy I'm not feeling negative about it anymore.

I sort of have family there. When my Grandmother's family left Russia they came through Vancouver and stopped in Red Deer. Most of the older boys stayed there to farm and ranch but her parents and the younger children moved south to Eastern Washington. I think we went twice in the 50s to visit. I went a few times in the 70s to play and party. I used to spend every 4th of July (and Dominion Day) at Fairmont BC-In the Rockies for sure.

We lived 20 miles from the nearest town, and 1 mile from the nearest neighbors. My kid brother and I ALWAYS had something going on, often to my parent's dismay.
I kept to that behavior until, well, yesterday. I'm pretty sure I've turned over a new leaf and will never be on the shit list again.
When I was a sophomore in HS we got a new school administration. NO MORE CORPORAL PUNNISHMENT. Instead boys were assigned pushups. 50 for the first offense, then 100 then 200 and so on. 2 weeks in and they decided that me and my buddy would reset weekly. The Principal was the football coach and he didn't want to kill us off the field. We had a couple of 700 pushup weeks. I could do an easy 50 at a time then...

He did one last walk around, he had to make sure all was set and ready to go, that nothing was left to chance.
It looked good, the Galenkapod was ready, batteries charged, solar charger set and packed, and the beer cooler was full. A last minute check on the pull-along faithful trailer and he was sure he was ready to go. He would have a place to sleep if there was no other shelter.
Things just were not looking good for the future, the world had gone into some sort of fanatical lock down because of a germ. People were scared, or angry. There did not seem to be any middle calming ground. So he decided it was time to see how it all turned out. If things worked right he could come back or stay. he would not know till he got to the future.
He sat in the cockpit feeling area of his galenkapod, mirrors retracted, trailer stabilizer bars engaged, no telling how rough it would get. Transdimensional drive engines set for minimum ten year hops. He looked over the console, everything was in the green. His thumb hovered over the ignition switch momentarily before pressing it.
The air shimmered around the galenkapod, he sat mesmerized by the flow of time, no real sensation of movement as it should have been, he was not going anywhere, time was traveling around him. A hill where there was none before, trees in the distance growing falling dying, and being reborn.
His timer said two thousand years, he turned the ignition to off, and felt a little bit of vertigo as he did so, outside time catching up with inside time. No bumps, no bruises, He had arrived into the future. Further ahead than he had planned. What would he find? Did mankind survive the madness, was it all a hoax? did something else happen?
He opened the door, the air smelled sweetly of salt water, this should not have been as he had started well away from the ocean in another time, same place, different time. Time to explore, he adjusted the trailer stabilizers to road travel, checked the cooler and grabbed a beer.
Southwest was the direction he needed to travel, but there seemed to be an issue with that, the compass was showing Southwest was not Southwest, poles must have moved. Still he knew which way was to town, three days and he would know if there was still a town.
Did mankind survive the virus? Three days and he would know if mankind not only survived it but all the other hazards of life on Earth. Earth was still here, so at least we did not blow it up in the last two thousand years.
He sipped his beer as he drove away from the hilltop.
I chose to go to the future, the plan was only for a 500 year jump, well things went a little bit awry. There was a remnant of a town, the ruins looked old, real old. He would have his search for what happened cut out for him, there was no sign of people.

Were you around here when you started? The ocean might return in 2000 years so southwest wouldn't be an option no matter what the compass said. I'd be interested if there had been an actual polar swap of if it was just an oscillation. You will have to stick around a while to find out I guess.
He did try to find a safe spot to park, just in case of sea level rise. Inconclusive if there was a pole swap, or if Australia made a jump northward like India did a real long time ago, and twisted a little bit throwing the compass needle off.
I'd guess those two conditions would be hard to diagnose from 'on the ground'.

Machu Picchu – Peru, Inca kingdom, sometime in the 15th century (cause that's when it was built)
Visiting this place has been an absolutely magical experience and I’m glad I got to see it. But imagine if I could see it while it was still in use, while it was being built, imagine seeing the whole civilization, the customs, the interaction… Yes, you hear many stories, but this is more the 600 or 700 years ago so who really knows what it was like…

If you walk around old Havana you will see these amazing buildings… Sadly most of them are in decay.
But I couldn’t help but imagine what Cuba would have been like in it’s hay-day! Why 1958? Because if I can trust the history books, that when Cuba was booming. I'm not getting into any politics, just imagening and amazing period of time to be there..
The architecture, the art, the social scene..the cars!!! I’m getting excited writing about it!

When you talked about teleportation the first thing that came to my mind was until a little over a month ago when I said goodbye to my dad who went to get the covid-19 vaccine and then died from the same thing, then I read where it says it's fun which means that this was no longer going to serve me and I had to think again.
And I came to the conclusion that I would teleport to a time where my economy was not a problem to indulge some whim to my family, like a day at the park with my family, a park where you spend the whole day and everyone arrives tired of playing so much where parents can ride with our children and be part of the fun, where at the end of the day we can stop at any restaurant randomly drawn and that is to everyone's liking.
The ideal would be that it happens on a Saturday so that when we get home at the end of the day everyone can take a bath and go to sleep exhausted, and then have some time alone with my wife and maybe have a few glasses of wine with her on the terrace of my house watching the stars and enjoying the nice breeze that blows to finish the day relaxed and loving each other more and more each day.

This is a very humbling comment and wish for a place to teleport to. It's sometimes difficult to comprehend the troubles some places have when I live here in Australia, relatively safe and with what I need within easy reach.

What an opportunity to try out what I had always wanted. Quickly, I will teleport to 1980 in Nigeria when our local currency was stronger than the American dollar and when you are a graduate, a job is readily waiting for you with an official Peugeot 504 car. Those tomes are rare now. A period where as an under graduate, you get food tickets for being a university student and in some institutions, you are entitled a whole chicken for the weekend.

There are a couple of Hivers I would really like to meet. In fact, one of the reasons why I made the effort to go to the last _____fest was to meet one MarianneWest (but unfortunately towards the end, she couldn't make it).
The other Hiver is Dreemsteem and we had even made plans last year to meet up early this year but here we are still in pandemic season.
The best part is, they live kinda close together (I think close because they have met up). So I would like to be transported to California so I can meet them and give them a 3D hug, or an elbow-bump and then hang out for a bit.

As much as I would like to use it to go someplace exciting, I would probably use it to teleport back to Canada to visit family. I haven't seen them in over two years now and I can't bring myself to get on the 8 hour flight to get there. Teleportation would just be convenient.

This is a great topic which most people will not shift away from. There are many times where we have a great moment in the past. Many would want to go back to those moments and many also do want to go back to those moments in other to correct one or two mistakes they have done.
To me, there are some mistakes I have done back in the days which if I'm given the opportunity, I will teleport myself to those days in other to correct the mistakes I have done.
In another way, there was a moment where I would love to take everyone to which happens to be back in the days. So, I would also love to take every of my friends to those days where we have to sit and enjoy together with a sweet moment.

I would want to teleport myself to a city called Yellowknife here in Canada (it is way up North) to watch Northern Lights aka Aurora Borealis in action. It would be a crime to enjoy this view all by myself so I would definitely want to teleport few friends and my significant other to watch these views. I have always wanted to watch these views since the first time I heard about them when I was 11 years old. It is a very possible trip in the future :)

This would be such a cool place to go and even to see. I would love the opportunity myself. I hope to have the chance but I'm not sure what this pandemic situation will do to travel in the future so maybe I'll not get the chance. That's why I need a teleporter!
It's interesting that a person can live in a country for so long and still not have seen its wonders. I don't mean you here, I mean me, others. There are whole parts of Australia I've not seen but have travelled the world. Odd. Having said that, I've seen so much more of Australia than the average person so I shouldn't whinge.

I do hope for the same for both of our countries as well as for everybody else around the world. Some people might be holding back on their travelling goals whether it is for leisure or to meet family or for other reasons.
Surprisingly, this is the conclusion I reached right after I wrote my original comment. I want to explore a lot more here in Canada first before I think about travelling overseas. Often times we forget about what our own country has to offer and start thinking about all the other places we want to see.

I'm not sure yet whether I'll bother to travel around the world again, I'll reserve the decision of course, but it'll depend what travel looks like from here on. I'll travel more locally in the region's surrounding Australia.
Aus is awesome for sure, I'm so blessed to have been born here, a twist of fate could have seen me born in some heinous country I guess, but I'd know no different then I suppose.
I've cuddled koalas and they're very cute little things, albeit with big claws. They are remarkably heavy though, the bigger ones. Good huggers.

This one is an easy one for me...I would definitely go to late June/ early July 1947, Roswell, New Mexico. I would head out of town and stake up for whatever the hell happened during that time. I've read all sorts of theories on it; military weapons, cryptoterrestrial craft, time machines, and of course the ETH plug. I would love to see what left all that debris behind at the time. Secretly, I'm voting for the cryptoterrestrial cause...

Teleporting to 1924 into farm life my father new (would have made him a teenager at 13 years of age). Why....
Dad lived outside of Meyerton, Gauteng on a farm, had to walk about 'ten miles' he said to school, but that is not what I want to know. It is the antics he and his siblings enjoyed, so many stories. Crossing the river, what farm life was like, would be a treat to walk in his shoes for a day or two!

This is very wholesome. I am sure you will have a better understanding of all the stories and enjoy your time at the farm. I have only visited a ranch once and helped out a little there. It can be quite some physical labor at a full farm for city people. I definitely remember feeling sore after being at a farm for a whole day and helping out.
Sounded like they worked hard, played hard and the four of them had a wonderful time revealing small extracts over time, their mother sounded an extremely wonderful woman. I never met either of my Dad's parents so it would be nice to go back a little to explore.
I often yearn to get back to more simpler days where working with ones hands didn't mean playing Playstation or ones thumbs on a phone-game. I was raised in a small town where walking to get places was a thing, where sleepy Sundays were spent on the verandah with doggo beside me, or finding mischief in the fields and woodland, vineyards or by the creek. I wish I could go back there, so I understand your comment and the feelings behind it.
We grew up under similar to your life, I would love to go back that little further, experience the slightly earlier period, even more rustic.
One or two photographs doesn't tell the story, small snippets told indicated in chat sounded good fun, although many duties had to be performed, it wasn't all work.
It would be good to go back to earlier times for sure. No computers.

Teleportation certainly seems to be one of the coolest possibilities! I wonder if we will get there within our lifetime, probably not. If we do get there it will only be for people who toe the line of government ass-kissing. Eventually it will be available on the black market! Lol
If I could teleport literally anywhere I would absolutely choose a habitable planet way out in the solar system somewhere! I would certainly be well prepared for such a journey with a proper set of firearms and ammo, as well as some basic food and necessities for survival to keep me fed and get me some shelter and stuff. Gotta keep myself protected if there are things out there that are dangerous, particularly different species of intelligent life. I think that would be a wild journey, filled with stress and all that but definitely one that I would be able to adapt to!
While out at that locale, I would certainly look to teleport my own family out there to be with me, my wife and son, so that we can live together but only after a little bit of me making sure it was safe-ish, like a week or so. After that I would teleport @swayzilla and his family out there and two more random families so that we could colonize the planet and not have kids and grandkids that end up all being weird hillbilly cousins hahaha. Plus sway is a military guy so he’s got lots of great skills we could use in the long run. We would hopefully be able to have a successful colony but one that didn’t war with the local people that live there already so that we don’t start that cycle of human oppression elsewhere.
Then as a twist, instead of me teleporting to a different time or place, I would teleport you out there! Plus whomever else you’d want to bring of course, including your cat. It would be cool taking pictures of this fledgling existence and teleporting back to earth to post them wouldn’t it?

I'm there! That would be so much fun. I always think about time relativity as well. Would a day on another planet in another part of the solar system be a thousand years here on Earth? Would this teleportation also perhaps be time travel if that were true? We'd miss all the BS.
It was so heavy on me, the location which I found myself was not cool at all, I began to wonder what it will feels like if I should make a new destination for myself, since I am unable to make it here, can't I tried somewhere else? This was the first question I asked myself! After a while, I found out that with the device I am holding at my hand can easily help me in making a new destination for myself ( relocation) I switched it on and here I go to France..
Why I choose to teleport to France is that, since I was a kid I always dream of visiting France and seeing how life is in that county, now the device just make me achieved my life aims, I am happy that is why is am saying that a teleporting device is all I was looking for 💃
A place to teleport to, great idea take oneself out of this current mess.... Let's see, there really are none, going back too far we wouldn't know how to live, maintain ourselves we have moved with evolution by changing into who we are. I will teleport my Dad to my house right now🥰, I miss chatting with him, whenever I remember his speech I feel like I should go home and talked with him some more, few days ago, I made up my mind and to used the teleporting device, since my Dad is involved here, i travel and here I goes and I arrived, asked my Dad that is time he visit me and immediately we arrived my residence, we talked and talked and talked, as he always makes me happy whenever I am with him. 🤗
This is a nice one indeed. My dad passed away last year and had dementia so didn't know who I was. It would be nice to go back to a time when he did.
