Beer and Meat
It was my wife's birthday and she had a Ladies breakfast and tea for her and her friends. This gave me the perfect opportunity, to grab some of the males and go for a nice beer and some good food!!
There is a new restaurant, close to where I stay, which has a great opening special going - one could get a 500g T-Bone Steak and a 500ml Draft Beer for R60.00, that is around $4.00, this really is value for money!! (Normally one would pay between R30.00 and R40.00 for the Beer alone!!)
The place is quite basic, with most of the tables outside under the trees!!
The weather was great, thus it was quite nice in the shade under the trees!!
There are quite a few tall Blue gum trees, providing ample shade and also giving a nice atmosphere to the place.
I almost forgot to take photos of the food, and could only get a photo of the the meat in my dad's plate, and he has already finished most of the side dish, the rest of us already finished half of out steak as well!!
We had a very nice time socializing around some great beer and good food, the ladies also enjoyed their breakfast and tea, but I think we had a much better time!!

Well, I am going to be very honest and say I envy you! Beer here is as you said 40 bucks a beer but steak! No, you cannot get steak for under a hundred bucks here on the western cape coast. Or I am not aware of anyplace. So you are very lucky.
You are right, even here it is a bargain, like I said it is an opening special, don't think it will last, but at the moment they are drawing people away from other places in the vicinity!! (With that steak, I don't think many people will eat more, but they might stay for more drinks, and then he will make his money!!) The waiters are at least also kept busy and the tips keep rolling in!!

That is the way to lure in new customers! Here are so many places that sell steaks that are badly cooked and not appetizing for so much money it is scary. The hospitality industry received a big knock due to covid this side (like everywhere) but quality since then has drastically gone down and prices went up.
