Squirrel Sunday - New Year's Resolution

The squirrels are back for another #squirrelsunday

This squirrel is contemplating new year's resolutions.

P1012594 copy.jpg
It remembers binging on terrible things during the holidays.

P1012596 copy.jpg
The humans make such delicious treats and store them out in the open for anyone to get out of these plastic tree hollows, how could any squirrel resist?

Later on the squirrel felt ill and vomited up a strange green mixture of walnuts, acorns and whatever this human treat is.

P1012608 copy.jpg
It was bedridden in its nest for days. During this time it reflected on all the bad decisions it made this last year.

P1012603 copy.jpg
As it got better it was tempted to go back to an even bigger plastic tree hollow full of strange human concoctions. But it remembered its stomach ache and decided not to.

Instead it went to the most organic tree in the forest and found a walnut.

Now its time for exercise to get rid of all those seed oils the humans put into their treats. That stuff really sticks to the squirrel's hind legs.

On this new diet the squirrel has lost one whole pound and can leap from tree to tree even faster than before. Still sometimes it has a craving for those strange dyed treats the humans leave around in the plastic tree hollows.

That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)

Thanks again @ewkaw :-)

Sliding by the appearance of this cutie, she feels good here and eats very well.

Yeah those green donuts really plump them up lol.

They are so cute, the little rascals, there is one that comes to my bird table, and annoys the goldfinches and other small birds. Every now and then I go to the little forest and give them apples and nuts and oatmeal!

The one eating the green donut was super possessive of that trash can. Two other squirrels tried getting up there but were denied.

A few years ago, a summer day with the balcony open and I was baking buns. A squirrel came, stuck a bun on the oak tree where he was sitting. He took the bun, went up a little higher, ate the whole bun, then he hugged the branch and looked completely dead, his tail hanging. After a couple of hours, he stretched out and yawned loudly. Then he stretched his tail and peed straight out for at least half a minute!

the humans leave around in the plastic tree hollows

Perfect 😆 I'm sure the squirrel feels a sense of accomplishment stealing from those silly humans that don't even guard their treasures after they stash them in their plastic tree hollows.
