RE: Weekend-engagement week 18: Your music groove

Huge hello !!!!!! My favorite Friday and weekend with your initiative !!! Good topic today! I could imagine hundreds of my favorite clips, but I chose one. This is ABBA and their song "Happy New Year". I have been listening to it since childhood. But it was written before I was born. I really like the words in the song:

May we all have our hopes, our will to try
If we don't we might as well lay down and die

Every New Year this song sounds in our house. And so it becomes warm in the heart. And some kind of pleasant warm nostalgia. How many years have passed, and this song is personally the coolest hit for me.

Sort:

Ah yes, a band from my youth...ABBA.

This song seems very relevant to 2020 as it's been such a terrible year for many. Maybe all we need to do is play this song as loud as possible in our homes around midnight on the 31st December and 2021 will be forced to be a happy new year!

Good choice, taking it old-school, and with such a prolific band and relevant song! Nice work.

Thank you!)) This year was really not easy. We will definitely listen to this song this New Year!)))

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

Oh, Abba, you could hear them all over when I was a kid. Most of their songs became hits. A group that was a huge success. I also liked their Chiquitita song. I remember they even played some of their songs in Spanish

Cool!)) I have not heard their songs in Spanish, but I will definitely find and listen!))

Here's Chiquitita version.

That was pretty cool. Not many bands can take their music and translate and sing it themselves in several languages. I wonder how many other bands can sing take there songs and translate or re-lyric them in other languages. I know Fernando was done in a few languages some with different lyrics. A very talented band.

Abba. For about 10 years everything they touched turned to gold. It was pretty stylish for the Rock and Rollers to just hate them, but I liked them.

Thanks for a great pick!

I hope "Queen" is one of your favorites. Below is my favorite Freddie Mercury song. I cannot relate myself to any particular direction in music. I can love jazz, saxophone, classical music and chanson. It is important for me that the song gives goosebumps.

Queen is right up near the top of the list no doubt. This is a terrific video that just moves me.

I watched to the end and saw the memorial. He's been gone near 30 years. How can that be?

Sin duda alguna Reina es lo máximo

definitely!)))

Queen are one of history's great artists! Freddy's voice...Priceless!

Once Freddie Mercury said: “I don’t want to become some kind of star, I will become a legend!".
And he became this legend.

He certainly did. Have you seen the recent movie made about Queen? I've seen it a few times as it was such a great movie and tribute.

Oh no! unfortunately did not look. But I will definitely look. I didn't even know about the movie.

It's called Bohemian Rhapsody with Rami Malek in it as Freddy Mercury. Good movie.

I do like ABBA lots and lots of very cool music and songs, My favorite from them was Fernando, I just love the opening lines
Can you hear the drums Fernando
I remember long ago another starry night like this
In the firelight Fernando
Their music has a way of taking you back down memory lane when you hear them out of nowhere.
