Good for you that you can financially afford to buy things that you "don't really like".
That is an interesting take on that sentence. My wife likes nougat, but she doesn't have a sweet tooth like I do.
I am not envious or anything like that. I just/only want to break out of my bad financial situation. To avoid having to pay the high rent and the also high regular, monthly bills, which I cannot even afford on my own in the winter (because of heating expenses).
Life can suck a lot for many people. What has been interesting though for me is, that many people in my life far preferred it when I was the one unable to pay my bills. The other thing that has been interesting, is that regardless of what I have experienced or what it has taken to get to today, I am expected to feel guilty in some way for being above the poverty line now.
I wish everyone the best in their life, but me having a little more to spend, doesn't take away from others having more or less - it doesn't work that way.
Hopefully you are able to find ways to get more of what you want too :)
I know that feeling well and it has only been in the last two or three years that I have been able to go to the shop and not have to pray a little that my card goes through.
And yes, I fully agree - we should all be able to live with dignity and a large part of that is economic availability. I am looking forward to a time things are not like they are in the current economy for so many people.
