Hello to all the members of the @weekendexperiences community. It is a pleasure to be with you to participate in the initiative proposed by @galenkp for this week and give my opinions regarding my preferences for dog or cat as a pet and explain why.
I think that preferences are determined by the preferences, experiences and personal characteristics of each person and that, in each case pets play an essential role in the life of human beings.
In my case my preferences are for dogs. In fact, we have never had cats as pets at home.
Why do I prefer dogs as pets?
There are several reasons, but, in my personal experience this is what I can say:
- They are loyal and have unconditional affection for their owners.
- They facilitate social interaction, because in the process of taking them for a walk you can meet other people who have pets like yours and exchanging and getting to know each other will be part of the process.
- It serves as a way of mental relaxation and exercise.
- It gives you security because these are protective animals by nature and it gives you confidence to have them at home.
- They serve as a mental stimulus and against stress and depression because in the process of attention, play and care you avoid thinking about problems and difficulties of daily life.
- You can train them to perform different activities and even teach them how to take care of people in case of an accident and they can save lives.
A final comment
I reiterate that the choice is due to different elements. But, in my personal criteria, dogs have more interaction with their owners, they are easier to train and in the process a greater communication is established between them and the owner. Likewise, dogs are more protective and alert and take care of their owners from different dangers, besides being more sociable animals, which facilitates socialization with the family and people in the community environment.

Hi friend, I very much agree with you about dogs they are very loyal, protective and force you to get out, exercise and in the process interact with other people.
