Hope has been a magic everyone wants in his or her life, without you hoping for better things in life then you are been played by life why? because as a human you have to hope for greatness and achieving better things in life I've always hoped and believe for better days ahead, ever since I've become come of age, I've always hoped that one day some how what I hope for would be achieved.

When I was in high school I've always dreamed of going to a nice university " university of agriculture makurdi" but my mom wanted me going to a different school but I kept convincing and believing that she would change her mind set one day.

so when I was done with my high school my mom sat me down and was, "oh, my son; said my mom. Where do you want to further your education? She ask me Surprisingly, I said ok! I want to study at university of agriculture makurdi, consider it done son ; said my mom.

Not quite long my results was out so I registered for post UTME when it was time I went and sat for the exams believing I will get a nice score to go through the university and after the results was out I was able to get the university cut off mark so now I can go to the university.

but after I wrote the jamb I was waiting for admission into the university but unfortunately the first list came out but I couldn't find my name I said definitely the second I will see my name but when the second list came out too my name was not on the list but all hope was not lost I kept saying and believing in my heart that I will get this admission surely so after some weeks the third list came out i just had this feelings that my name is their and behold even before i could check it my friend in the school called me that he saw my name in the third list I was so happy, finally I got the admission.

After getting the admission I got a congratulatory messages from friends and family as I will be starting a new face of my life, Mean while my mom was not financially equipped though so after the admission finally no funds to fuel the education it was so frustrating at the beginning but my mom told me not to worry I should keep believing that God will provide so I kept my hope so strong hoping for that to happen because I can't miss this opportunity.

So one day I was thinking of how my mom will get the money then I heard a voice in my room early in the morning while I was still sleeping pand I heard "oh, my boy, it was my mom. I said mom, you can now go to school, she said. I exclaim wow finally I will be going to school, She said yes.

When I resume school and started going for lectures it's was actually tough for me because I was new in the environment and I don't know anyone off course but along the line I came across a female friend that has really helped to encourage and advice me on how to archive my goal in the school so we became very close and I told her how my mom struggles to see that I'm ok and providing my needs in the school it was very touching and she told me not to give up and keep believing that it will be alright.

so I kept that in mind that I have a goal I was pursuing that one day my hope will not be lost and I'm going to make my mom proud. Despite all challenges I was facing I kept my head straight up pursuing that which I'm hoping for which is better grades.

time, days, weeks, months, and years passes bye things are getting more harder for my mom but i wasn't distracted to what i was chasing i just kept believing that one day it will be alright so i kept working very hard for my success and as God will make it after all the sufferings and struggles i was able to scale through.

I graduated last year after this long journey of hope, i really want to use this medium to thank my mom for her support and also my friend that really encouraged me not to give up making me to have hope and believing that when we hope for greatness in life we will surely achieve that if we believe. Thank you for reading.

Hive Power Up Month Challenge - March 2024 Winners List
Be ready for the May edition of the Hive Power Up Month!

hello @huncho124. This read like a true story from your life. Please be careful to write correctly for the prompts as the hope prompt was the fiction prompt for this week. Having said this, it was touching to read a post filled with such gratitude and appreciation for your mom. I'm glad that the two of you managed to persevere and that you have now completed your University education. Congratulations!

Your submission would benefit from a spellcheck, and grammar and punctuation edit. There are some exceptionally long sentences which combine numerous thoughts in a long string of words, making it a challenge to read and not giving the reader a chance to take a breath. If you want to improve your writing, please focus on editing your work before publishing.

Thank you for writing in The Ink Well.

Thank you for the observation.

Thank you.
