Sitting in front of her house, she contemplates the night.
The new moon heralds a new cycle.
The noise of cars populates the surroundings.
The ringing of the cell phone brings her out of her thoughts.
It is a text message.
"How are you, the most beautiful thing in the city"
She smiles and responds.
"Looking at the moon."
"Since when did the stars look at the moon?"
She walks a few steps to the bench in the garden and replies as he sits down.
"What are you doing right now?"
"Imagining what it will be like to caress your whole body."
She looks at the front of her house as if she thinks her husband might be reading the messages sent to her.
"And how do you imagine it?"
"I imagine your soft skin that is enervated by my fingers running all over your body. Do you think I could ever do that to you'."
She blushes.
"Maybe, I never say never never."
"Does your husband do that to you?"
"I'd rather not talk about him."
"Does he say nice things to you?"
"Sometimes yes. Are you jealous?"
"I confess to you that more than jealous I am envious."
"Jajajaa, I didn't expect you to say that."
She has not only laughed with words but physically as well, so looks everywhere, like a thief who has made some noise.
"It's the truth, I'd like to be the one who sleeps with you every night."
"Maybe you wouldn't put up with me."
"I'm dying to try."
"And your wife?"
"She is well, thank you, sends his regards."
Again he laughs but this time he covers his mouth with his right hand.
"Isn't she the type to check your cell phone?"
"I'd have to cut off my finger to get my fingerprint."
"Cases have been seen, not only of fingers but of other things, ha ha."
"If I were your husband, would you do it?"
Think for a moment.
"I don't know, maybe I'm a demoness."
"How scary"
She can feel the irony in that message.
"Don't you think so?"
"I wouldn't mind going with you to hell."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. Do demons suck blood like vampires?"
"Worse. We have sex until we kill them."
She laughs at his own witticism.
"Ohhh, I want you to kill me."
"Come on then."
The message takes a few more seconds to arrive, so he assumes that he was not expecting the answer he had given him.
"Shall we have a threesome?"
"Would you dare?"
"I don't think your husband likes it."
"And would your wife like it?"
"Much less, we would be corpses."
"For the record, you missed the opportunity."
"I prefer you alone to me."
"You were late."
"Not even for a little while?"
"Maybe, maybe."
"Maybe what?"
"Maybe someday I'll go crazy."
"Isn't it?"
She laughs again.
"Ha ha, I can't with you."
"For sure in bed if you can."
"Ummm, a lot of hype bad product."
"I assure you, not in this case."
"No?"
"You can try it if you want."
"We'll save it for next time, it's too late now."
"Are you going to sleep?"
"Perhaps, but I must get into the house before my husband becomes suspicious."
"When shall we write to each other again?"
"I'll let you know."
She enters the house and goes to her bedroom where her husband watches TV.
He smiles as he sees her enter.
-Will you join me to watch TV or shall we do something else?
-That depends on your power of deterrence.
-Let's say I want to know how demons make love.
He turns off the TV and she laughs out loud as she undresses.
She lies down and while kissing him she tells him.
-You will regret it.
Since a few weeks ago they have invented the game of being lovers by text message.
This is a very clever story.Readers expect duplicity and are surprised to find that the husband and wife have been playing a text game. The secret is revealed near the end with this line:

I really enjoyed your post, the use of texting in couples these days, how you put it was fun and interesting.......and the final part... excellent!
"As of a few weeks ago they have invented the game of being lovers by text message.".
Congratulations!Hi @joseph1956
I love it. I was feeling badly for the poor "other spouses". The ending was sweet and still unexpected.
What a clever twist, @joseph1956. This is a beautiful and sensual story, taunting us that these two lovers are preparing to cheat on their spouses. The conflict is very good, and the resolution is perfect. Well done!
@joseph1956 my expectations didn't go right; hehe I suppose that two people are going to be deceived and heart is broken but now at the end, I see the two hearts having a single heartbeat.
Hah, you got me good with this one, fantastic end!
I also loved the way you presented the dialogue. It's hard work making dialogue work without exposition and let it carry the story. Well done, I enjoyed it a lot and the revelation at the end!
