Alice's wonderful world

When I learn to read, I am going to read all the books in the world and when I learn to write, I am going to write a lot, says Alicia excited and with shining eyes.
As the days go by, classes begin and the grandparents, as representatives, take Alicia to school. The elders are also excited because this is an unprecedented event for them: Alicia is the first person in the family to attend school. Neither her mother, nor her grandparents, were able to do so. So, like the little girl, their palms are sweating and their hearts are jumping like an acrobat flea.
Every evening, when Alicia returns home, her grandparents wait expectantly and anxiously for her. Frantic and excited she takes out of her backpack many notebooks where she has written a few words:
_Here it says: A-l-i-c-i-a -she points to each letter with her finger and pauses. Then she says, smiling, "Alicia is my name".
Then the little girl writes her name not only on the pages of her notebook, but also on everything in the house: on the walls, on the stem of a tree, even on the front of a cup: A-l-i-c-i-a. The grandparents smile and learn too, because they know that this word is the name of their granddaughter. Then Alicia learns to write the word "tree", "child", daddy, mommy, "grandparents". And each word she also teaches them, with patience, to the old people:
_This word is pretty and says flower, this other short one says love and this bigger one, says study. -Alicia explains with the notebook open in front of her grandparents.
One day, the little girl arrived excited from school and almost without being able to breathe she said:
_I told my teacher to teach me how to write your names. Grandpa, your name is Juan and Grandma, your name is Ana. They are short words, easy to learn. I teach them: J-u-a-n and A-n-a.
In this way, every afternoon, after Alicia came home from school, she would take grandma's hand holding the pencil and help her write in her notebook: "A-n-a. This is your name, Grandma." Then she would take Grandpa's hand and help him write, "J-u-a-n. This is yours, Grandpa." Grandma and Grandpa would chagrin and smile at the sight of her scribbles and clumsy strokes erased over and over again on the school sheets. Alicia's patience was inexhaustible and she repeated the lesson over and over to her grandparents every day.
When Alicia learned to read, there wasn't a label she didn't read: There it says "Slowly", There it says "Please", the little girl pointed as if she was discovering everything in the universe. And when she opened a book, her grandparents sat excitedly and quietly around her:
_Today I'm going to read you a story where the main character is named after me. Alicia says laughingly, not knowing that she will be the protagonist of this story.

This is a nice account of how Alicia learned how to read, however your resolution feels abrupt. It would be wonderful to see more character development as well a conflict established. We also believe you would benefit from our article on how to build a story arc. We hope this feedback helps! Thank you for sharing your story with us, and for your engagement with other members of the community.
I will take your recommendations into account! Thank you very much
I hope Alicia doesn't grow up too fast, because there are so many burdens in life to bear that she hasn't even thought about before
Yes, the best stage is childhood. Growing up can be very hard. Thanks for commenting
Very well written and creatively resolved story in its essential aspects: the ideation of the main character and his relationship with the family and educational environment. I particularly liked the intertextual allusion to the emblematic Alice (Carroll's), as well as a certain metafictional character. As I have read on many other occasions, you have mastered the art of writing as a skilled narrator. Very good participation in #TheInkWell.
¡Felicitaciones!
