We had an accident 5 years ago when we were going on a vacation. My wife died but my son was nowhere to be found on the scene. I am hoping that he is still alive and will see him soon. He replied, there is a smile on his face but the truth is it still hurts.
Don't you lose your hope? It's been 5 years and still no news from him. His friend said to him.
You know, there was no dead body on the scene. I never saw his dead body and it keeps my hope alive. I think he is still alive. He looked at his friend with a smile. You will see the dedication and faith in his eyes that they will reunite soon.
Alright, do you take any actions to find him?
Of course, I always look for him every time I am on the road and driving.
He is Roman, a father who lost his wife and son from the accident. Despite his dark and hurtful past, he is always smiling and never lost his faith to find his missing son. Meanwhile, his wife was dead from the accident.
Right, see you tomorrow. Time to go, maybe my son is waiting at our home. He said to his colleagues.
He left their meeting place. He has been an Uber driver for years. It is his main job to make a living.
Hey dad, how's your day? his son asked him.
It was fine, son. What's up?
Oh, I cooked food for dinner. Come on, let's eat.
His son, Shaun, is his adopted son after the accident. He is the same age as his missing son. Roman met him from the road, homeless. His parents died and no one wants to take care of him.
Things changed when he met Roman, they had ups and downs but still love each other like a real father and son.
So...have you found him, dad? Shaun asked while they were eating. Roman sighed, Shaun already knew the answer.
It's okay, dad. We can see him soon. I hope he is healthy.
Shaun never feels jealousy about Roman's real son. In fact, he is helping to search the missing son. He is using his skills in technology to look for information about his (soon-to-be) brother.
Shaun is a hacker and programmer, at his very young age of 21, he has a lot of talent when it comes to the internet. Sometimes, he is hacking some CCTVs hoping that he will find his brother Michael.
How about you, son? Have you found him? Roman asked him. But like Roman, he just sighed.
Dad, as of now it is hard to find him. We only have his picture 5 years ago. His face might have changed and become mature. I think it is impossible if we don't have his current photo.
Roman sighed. Do you think I should give up? It is difficult for me but...we have been doing this for 5 years and still no information.
Don't worry dad, I will do my best. Tomorrow I will look for the nearest adoption place near the accident and search for a person named Michael.
His dad is full of doubts but he still smiles. A little more push and he will fall off the cliff of being hopeless. Thank you, son.
They finish their dinner and do chores before going to bed.
Bye Shaun! Roman shouted before he left their house.
Bye dad, be careful while driving. It is Tuesday morning, another day to do their work and look for Michael at the same time.
Roman was driving for the client who works in Uber then suddenly, a man crossed the road quickly and he almost hit him.
What the-- Roman said. The boy is on the road, he looks afraid and traumatized. Despite his matured face, he acts like a kid.
Hey man, you okay? Roman asked.
Y-yes.
What are you doing here? I mean...you crossed the road out of nowhere.
I was visiting our h-house. The boy looked at the house on the side of the road.
Roman looked in the direction where the boy was looking. It was their house before.
You mean this house? Roman confirmed and pointed his fingers to the house.
Yes, why?
Roman was shocked, he was nervous and thinking about something.
What is your name?
There was a 10 seconds silence before the guy answered. He is just looking at Roman.
I am Robert… he answered.
Roman sighed. He thought it was his child. Oh okay, I'm sorry. Are you sure that you are okay?
Yes, excuse me.
The guy left without asking for money for the accident. Roman was thankful to the guy.
He rode to his van again when his phone vibrated. Shaun is calling.
Hey son why are you call---- he couldn't finish his question when Shaun started to talk.
Dad, I think I found him...Based on my research, there is a guy from the Mediks Hospital who had a mild amnesia. It was because of an accident 5 years ago. According to his records, he was traumatized by the accident and it affects his behavior when he see vehicles. Shaun was excited to tell his dad. Roman is now sweating and nervous about the news.
Are you sure about this? Roman asked.
There is a silence on the other line, then Shaun sighed.
...but his name is Robert dad...but he looks like Michael on the pic---
You mean, Robert?
Yes.
I think I found him
Roman rushed and followed the guy, he is thankful that he is still near on the road where he is driving.
Hey! he shouted. You said that you are Robert, right? Did you go to the Mediks Hospital and got traumatized because of the accident 5 years ago? He was nervous while saying those questions. He is desperate to know the truth.
Although the guy hesitated, he answered. Y-yes, why?
By any chance, do you remember me? I'm Roman.
The guy looked Roman with a confused look. I'm sorry I don't know you.
How about this? Did you recognize this? Roman is desperate and shows their family photo on his wallet.
Robert's eyes widened and tears started to fall. D-dad?
Roman burst into tears and started to cry, he hugged his son tightly like there is no tomorrow. Finally, son. I found you!
They went home together and Roman cancelled the book for his Uber trip. This is an important day for him and his son Robert.
Robert told everything about his amnesia and disappearance from the accident. It turns out that someone took him to the incident. The two people who took him were husband and wife. Sadly, they are abusing and assaulting him.
He has no memory and grew up with the mindset that the two are his parents. Things changed after two years when his memories were gradually brought back. He never told his parents about it because he knows that they will assault him.
He planned to escape and live independently, he looked for some part time and lived freely. However, his memories are not that clear. He only remembers things and some faces of the people, not their names, including his own name.
Good thing is he remembers his dad's face and his photo when he was a kid. He also remembers the accident from 5 years ago.
Shaun and Robert have a good relationship. They are mature enough to understand the situation and treat each other as real brothers.
It was a great reunion for Roman's family. Now, he has two sons who are lovely and caring.
His family is now living happier than before. He is thankful that he never gives up and to Shaun who is there to support him.
Fate is on my side. Roman said while smiling and looking on his sons.
His kindness to an orphan, and never giving up were greatly rewarded 🙌

Interesting story, I liked the almost cinematic dialog and events.
What a cruel couple those who adopted his son, while on the other side the dad had a great relationship with the adopted Shaun.
Seems like fate was good to him because he is a good person.
