The Magick of the Wim Hof Method

One of the stops along my magickal journey was Wim Hof’s breathing exercises and cold exposure. This was transformational in so many ways and, while I am not currently practicing daily, I still use the breathing technique whenever I need to kick-start my body’s healing or detox. I also still do enjoy the cold exposure as a mode of going deeper, I just haven’t been doing it every day.

I love taking pictures of my footprint in the snow!

Another day, another print ;)

Even cooler, someone left a perfect print right by mine!

I got this shower thermometer for like $5. It’s got a mini generator built in, so it’s powered by the water flowing through it! The bad news is, it stopped working after about a year. It still turns on, it just doesn’t register a temp anymore. I think 46 degrees F was the lowest I ever saw in my basement shower.

Once I got the breathing part figured out and the exposure became normalized, I would spend lots of time in the snow with minimal clothing - even shoveling the driveway and going on ruck marches in shorts with no shirt.

Our bodies truly are a wonder, and they’re capable of so much more when we dig deeper!

That’s pretty wild dude, I guess there’s a lot of benefits to doing this stuff for sure. I know that people who take cold showers swear by them and the benefits it does for their bodies. I don’t know if I can get to that point yet lol but I think going outside barefoot in the snow wouldn’t be too bad!

Hahaha yeah you pretty much got that dead on. The snow business gets the feet tingling a bit, but it passes pretty quickly. The cold shower tends to require a little more preparation for me, but the breathing exercises are paramount - more important even than the cold. I use them whenever I want to detox or gather myself, or just cuz I have a few minutes!
