Yesterday I was tempted to play DO format more because of the juicy x1.5 modifier. I checked the calculator on Gumeta and noticed that I 'only' need 14 Diamond cards to match results in constructed format with my usual 23 Diamonds. I decided to rent some additional cards and give it a try! ...And I failed terribly, but let's leave it for now.
The update on Gumeta
I used this opportunity to update Gumeta a bit, as many of you complained that there is no place to check the full deck for formats mode. I tried to add deck codes, but it turned out to be more challenging than I initially thought, so I abandoned this feature for now.
If any of you have a 'working' code to generate deck codes, please give me a shout! (Sadly, GU endpoint and library do not work).
Instead, I pushed a small release to Gumeta with an increased modal size for archetypes and a preview of up to 16 cards, since almost every deck has two copies of a card. Remember that what you see in the archetype modal window represents many decks grouped into one. On hover, you'll see the percentage of card usage, where 100% means that this archetype always uses two copies of that card.
DO Meta
As usual, we are looking at Gumeta stats with filters set to 12 hours and top ranks.
In this format, going second is considered a 'skill issue' : ) Establishing a strong board advantage is essential. Once again, blitz creatures and good area removals are the kings. Old Sanctum is back, and it's more advantageous for quick aggro decks.
What to Play?
- First of all: Take x2 Guild Enforcers, then choose your domain xD.
- War: This domain has only one deck to play, really, and that's part of why I don't like DO... War has more than 30% popularity, so you'll encounter the same deck over and over again. The 'new' god power Fracture is doing a good job of establishing the board, so I think this version is even stronger against board-centric decks compared to the DO version.
- Deception: Once again on top as a direct counter to War and still very strong against any other domain. Demo and PW are back! With the fixed Flip god power, control decks can take their time to pick the right cards to counter the opponent's aggression.
- Light: This is the last domain worth anything in DO format mode. With a solid 50% win rate, aggro can even beat War when starting first and with enough luck.
I only have Wild Nature cards, so now you understand why I don't like the DO format mode xD. Amazons look playable though!
But, I'm happy to see that people really enjoy the DO format, the popularity stats are super good!
Thanks for reading!

Congratulations @imx.center!
You raised your level and are now a Minnow!
I cannot tell you where I read this and I don't know if I can find the source again, but I'm under the impression that encoding and decoding GU deck strings uses proprietary code and the only way to interact with it is via the API endpoints you couldn't get to work.
Perhaps you can try and reach out to the Gu Decks guys in their Discord. I'm sure they will be able to help!
