As of 2023, there were 23 Michelin-starred restaurants in Chicago and over the weekend my Chicago kids, J and E, celebrated their wedding anniversary at one of them, Ever.
They are fans of FX's Hulu fictional comedy/drama series The Bear Season one was released in 2022 and follows a brilliant, dedicated young chef who comes home to Chicago and turns his family's hot beef stand into a fine dining establishment. One episode of The Bear was filmed at Ever.
Ever is a 2-Michelin star restaurant that serves creative, modern seasonal cuisine. It's headed by chef Curtis Duffy, a James Beard award-winning chef who also earned Michelin stars at Chicago restaurants Grace and Avenues at The Peninsula Hotel. Ever was founded by Duffy and his business partner Michael Muse, an award-winning sommelier and restaurateur, in the summer of 2020.

Ever offers an 8-10 course tasting menu that is seasonal and changes frequently..
I loved that their menu was personalized with a Happy Anniversary message.
Ever's tasting menu experience typically lasts 2 to 2 1/2 hours
Wine pairings are curated to each night's tasting menu. They were quite impressed by the attention they recieved from the sommelier.
They were offered a kitchen tour and enjoyed seeing the process. They were pleased to see that unlike the chaos of The Bear's kitchen, here everyone was working in peace.

All the dishes look so tempting. The only thing I don't understand is what kind of people get filled with such a small amount of food 😅 I might not be satisfied even with 4 such plates. 😋

As for the food, I think the style and the portions, are not known to me, but it would be interesting to try it.

I didn't intrude on their wedding anniversary celebration, but I was certainly glad that they shared all the photos with me. A tasting menu would be a dream come true for me. I like to try a little bit of everything!

You know, it seems very good to me, to try the different foods that there are by regions.
If one day you come to Venezuela, I will take you to eat traditional dishes.
And also, a horse mackerel (fish) in a seafood sauce, a stuffed Catalan. The Catalan is a red fish and very fleshy, we open them in half, fill it with seafood and I also make a sauce with mushrooms.
The Capybara, is also eaten a lot in the interior of the country.
I was in some South American countries in the 80s and really, I also did culinary tourism and it's really worth it.
I hardly eat meat anymore, but I used to get hired to make the grills at a couple of friends' companies. If you like to cook, I'll pass you some recipes.

I have traveled to 20 different countries and I have such great memories of. eating the food of all those different places! I'm no longer able to travel, but I would love to try the food of Venezuela. Especially, the fish. I am not able to get much fresh fish and seafood here in Wisconsin.

Wow, the truth is that all the dishes look too beautiful and organized, I have never eaten in a restaurant of this type, I hope to have the opportunity at some point.

Cool link to the Bear. We watch it and love it. Especially the first season was great. I've eaten at a lot of nice restaurants over the years but not sure about Michelin stars so... I did some research lol Michelin doesn't do reviews in New Orleans (there was some disagreement on this but right now Michelin only gives stars in 5 US cities) so that crossed alot of nice places I've been off the list. I found a California sushi place I had been to had a Michelin star and another couple of places that had stars but maybe not at the time we ate there.
The Bear episode with Michael polishing forks was filmed at Ever. I've eaten at some pretty swanky restaurants in NYC but they didn't start giving Michelin stars in the US until 2005.
The style of the restaurant matches the freshness of its dishes, very minimalist and with an impeccable presentation.
The plating is so creative! And those are certainly foods that I would never think of putting together!
They have decorated the things very well and this thing is very popular with the customers and if the quality is good then the hotel becomes famous very quickly.
The quality is the finest! This restaurant has become quite famous.

I just love how this food are being arranged in style, we do eat first with our eyrmes though when its attractive we tend to get appetite for what we see on the table
