I just came across this site yesterday & decided to give it a try. I am fairly new to crypto.
This platfrom seems daunting to me.
I made a profile on esteem & with that I logged in here, but I can't login with this, on peakd. Why?
Why there are so many keys?
It's just so much confusing. Can anyone tell me if there is a help page with detailed guides to get going on this platform?
Hello, welcome.
The keys you got from esteem are pretty important because they're your first keys. We call them the owner keys.
However, to be able to login to peakd or hive.blog, you need to get the posting key. We did it that way for your safety.
So, keep your owner key stored and safe, get the posting key and use that to login. Get the master key and active keys as well. You'll understand when you read the welcome guide. I'll put the link below:

Thanks for your reply. These links did help me a lot.
You're welcome
We have made a series of guides called Hivenoobs: https://peakd.com/hivemarketing/@hivepeople/hive-for-noobs
About the keys: will you use your mobile phone or desktop computer when on Hive?
In that first guide it tells you what Brave/Chrome extension to use if you are going to be on peakd.com on desktop.
Here's a detailed tutorial about your private keys: https://peakd.com/hivenoobs/@hivepeople/hivenoobs-private-keys
in order to see and save your private keys. you will need to use a desktop computer. Then get the Hive Keychain extension (in Chrome/Brave or Firefox browser). After the Hive Keychain is installed, then you can input that master password that Esteem gave you. Then you go into the Hive Keychain, click on the hamburger menu (3 horizontal lines) in upper right corner, and click on "manage accounts". You should see your private keys there.
I have advised the Esteem team to make the private keys accessible within the Esteem app, so this process is easier, and they said they are already working on this.
I agree that this part is rather complex....
All these links that i mentioned (Hive Keychain) are in that first tutorial named HiveNoobs.
Yes, these tutorials helped a lot. Now I have been able to get things going.
Excellent. Tag us if you have more questions.
Just ask me anything about Hive. If you ask more specific questions I can provide you specific information.
Hive a nice day!
I like your username, since I usually look for Ab initio calculations.
Wow, I also do some DFT calculations. I think it would be worthwhile following & asking you.
I wanted to ask if there is a way for 1 to 1 message like on Facebook.
Also, does reblogging have any significance? Does reblogging count the same as posting?
We don't yet have private messaging (but some apps are working on it for future). However, there is something cool here called an encrypted memo (and we are going to do a tutorial for this)...it's to send someone a secret message, that no one else can read...it's possible.
Reblogging is just like a retweet on Twitter. Reblogging doesn't count towards your own earnings, but it helps to share someone else's post. Reblogging is a way to make friends, share and be social.
My friend @abinitio, ask me anything about hive. I know a lot of the fucking code LOL.
See you around!
