What's something new you doing on Hive?

in Ask the Hiveyesterday

Compared to say a few months ago.

Anything new you're up to?

Dapps?

Snaps?

If nothing new, is there anything you're doing differently compared to some time ago?

Sending beneficiaries to @commentrewarder.

I've been using Hive a lot since the beginning of the year and discovered two “new things” for me in February.

  1. Crownrend
It's quite fun so far, but I don't know exactly what the long-term perspective for the game is. I think the devs still have to think about it.

  2. HSBI shares
I've known for a while that this project exists, but I've never fully understood it or read up on it. I've had time to do that in the last few weeks and then I pretty much understood it. I think HSBI is a great thing because it shows that you are planning for the long term with the Hive blockchain and committing to it. That's why I've also started sponsoring HSBI shares to others.

And also, but that's not necessarily “new”, I've been busy with Splinterlands again: I bought a lot of cards from the Rebellion expansion, wrote a lot of blog articles about it (by my standards) and also played a lot of Modern Ranked and tournaments myself. And I'm currently spending a lot of time with the new “Survival” mode.

  1. Yeah it started off strong but seems to have some downtime in terms of development currently, can't blame them though, those things happen and have happened quite a few times with holozing as well. There's not a lot of money/funding on Hive so that often becomes an issue as well that may delay things.

  2. I never touched that as a curator from early on, paying for guaranteed votes (even if there's a way to get blacklisted I think) kind of defeated the purpose of curation and I just didn't see the appeal. I'm frankly quite surprised people use it so much but can't say too much about it either not knowing/having followed up with it to know how it works exactly.

Splinterlands is probably always a good time to get into and stay active, hoping the best for the flagship game of our blockchain in the future!

  1. Yes, I agree. I don't blame the devs because those things happen as you said. I will keep on playing it, because I have fun. And maybe it evolves postively some day.

  2. The way I see it is that I “pay” with Hive (which is converted to HP on the @steembasicincome account) and only “get back” the paid Hive a few years later through the upvotes. This means I have to stay with Hive for a long time in order not to make a loss. But on the other hand, I could also simply convert the Hive to HivePower myself, then I would simply have more Curator Rewards and could decide for myself which content I upvote. But I don't think a bit of diversification is wrong, as only a small part of my hive flows into HSBI.

I think since I got a new buddy (Drone) for my travel adventures, the new content contains aerial shots and aerial videos highlighting places I will visit.

Subbed. I love aerial shots!

yeah me too, see you in my future aerial shots @jin-out

That's really cool! Are you posting into the drone community we got incubated at OCD?

I already did (link). It's just my practicing time in our area, so don't expect too much yet, guys 😅. Im still a Newbie and managing to control it smoothly.

Started Apis Hive a couple of weeks ago to support accounts who want to stick around Hive in the long run. It's very different from what I've done in the past and quite a lot of work, but it will be worth it if we can find the people with the right mind set on Hive

A few months ago I wasn't using Hive at all!

I created my HIVE account 5 years ago to play Splinterlands and Rising Star. Then 2 years ago I stopped because I was spread to thin across so many different blockchains and such (I never posted articles back then only played games).

Now I am doing EVERYTHING I can on HIVE.
Splinterlands ✅
Rising Star ✅
Holozing ✅
Posting Articles ✅
Crownrend ✅

I am trying to do everything that I can and not just to earn crypto. I am trying to truly make Hive my #1 long term earning/goal. I want to reinvest what I earn on peakd back into games to get better and better.

With zero fiat invested into crypto everything I have here is pure profit and fun money so to speak! :)

With zero fiat invested into crypto everything I have here is pure profit and fun money so to speak! :)

I think it's the most underrated part of our ecosystem!

yup, Honestly now that I got back into HIVE but this time I got into posting on HIVE.. I am pissed I didn't do that all those years ago. I have no idea how much I would have earned on HIVE in 4 years just posting about my Hive journey and games.

I was honestly blown away when I started posting here how much I was able to earn in rewards. I already convinced 2 of my WAX friends to start posting here because good content gets a lot of views and votes on Hive I have noticed.

I’ve been engaged over the last months with creating more community engagement via shows on the hive discord.
There seemed to be a gap between the everyday user and the witnesses, devs, dapps and community leaders.
Several of us have been working together to open up discussions. Providing a space to learn and engage with the hive community.
Attendance to the shows have been steadily increasing.
The show post hasn’t been dropped yet, but this Tuesday at 6 UTC we will be having a conversation with Blocktrades.
I’d also love to have a discussion with you in the coming weeks if you would be up for it.
I think there is a hunger out there to be more involved and understand more about the Hive Blockchain, learning about how things work and what projects are working on. So no time like now to start the snowball rolling!
Check out attendance at a recent show….

Crownrend, snaps, pob... I want to buy some nfts projects too, but need to stack some hive and increase farm...

I thought about Hsbi, but I don't write that much, very rarely... Also, the Liketu blog sounds cool, but I'm just too introverted/shy for that lol.

Btw about Holozing, any idea about needed staked #ZING structure for rewards? If it's already released I could search again, just kind in oblivion about that. Thank you!!

Edit: I meant by playing the game, not a staked Apr.

Oh, you won't need zing to earn by playing, you will however need a healer and a starter creature to play!

Don't think there's a minimum to earn staking rewards if that's what you're asking? You can earn by purchasing an alpha vial for a short while forward and also by delegating some HP along with earning achievements.

Most significant changes in the past months for me have been:

  1. Crownrend - Started playing it the day it came out. I am currently sitting in the #35 spot thanks to some kind people that cared to share some items they had laying around :) Still waiting for the alliance update to hopefully join The Fellowship of the Zing.
  2. RedditPosh - Discovered it trough your competition couple months back and really loved it. Still sharing amazing Hive posts to different reddit users to hopefully onboard some along the way!!
  3. For last buy not least I gave my HivePower the last push that it needed to get me over the 2500 stake mark. Hopefully it is only a start and will grow in the years to come!!

If I consider a time frame of 3 months

I added three hive-based games to my daily gaming activity:

  • Crownrend
  • Golem Overlord's Conquest mode.
  • Moon Karts

I also liked the change of rules for curating Splinterlands contests and I often use this tool (https://beebalanced.streamlit.app/) to see the KE of Hive accounts, it is not the only indicator I use but it is one of the indicators that makes me choose who to support and who not to

The last and nice discovery was Apis Hive, I have already written a post about this nice initiative and I will try to promote Apis Hive in my future posts

Honestly nothing,
Life has gotten in the way for me.

On a second thought I just realized I started sharing HIVE shorts and videos on other web2 socials which is pretty nice.

I curate, pop in to make a post every now and then. Thread on INLEO and then drop a few comments.

Really nice tbh

What kind of shorts are those?

I just corrected a typo on my first reply, lol

So it's this Call to action thing. I'm pretty sure you've heard of it.

https://ecency.com/hive-197333/@hive-echo/earn-dollarhive-by-sharing-content-grand-prize-50-dollarhive-bonus-6

There's a Google drive folder and all of that.

Oh yeah, my mind went to it when I read your comment, nice! I still have an announcement for POSH waiting to get out and the new activity rolling, hope they can operate well together and make it even more rewarding for our users trying to bring traffic our way.

For now the integration with bluesky and the focus on getting @redditposh more active has been going well!

Reckon they will
People love hive.

Incentivize it's promotion is a win win.
Best part is, more quality users doesn't mean less for anybody.

I will keep an eye out for the POSH announcement, & Bluesky integration.

Well done on your work ser 🫡

Snapping for sure. And sometimes waving (lol, using Waves).

I used to thread a lot, but then Inleo started censoring replies published from other fronends, so I quit it. Inleo is too buggy, and user-unfriedly to be my first option, and I do not support this kind of censorship anyway.

I upload Snaps from time to time, and this month I'm starting another job and college and I don't want to lose my activity here on Hive, so I'll make an effort not to lose it.

I also started to publish things that I think... following Nietzsche's parameters when it comes to expressing his ideas in his books, giving his own "moral" and expressing himself.

The timing of your post is good.
February was a turning point for me.
many new things, yes !

I started following several curation trails after finally wrapping my head around what they were and found this to be a game changer.

sponsored another member into the Hive SBI program

there may be some more but that should be enough for the moment.
looking forward to more of all of the above in March 🙏 after nearly 3 years on Hive I realized #Ecency was actually a community too and joined it. have been fairly active using #waves, promoting posts, others´ and mine, engaging etc.. was introduced to #BBH token and now slowly purchase some of these. have been on #Ecency leaderboard for a short time (way down near the bottom 😆) welcomed and accompanied some new members, encouraging them to write an #intro post.

I'm actively trying to use Snaps now, I tried it for wave before but I couldn't use it regularly.

Secondly I'm playing Crownrend, a Hive game and I'm totally addicted to it, I'm constantly trying to improve things and it feels like there's no end XD I haven't opened chests for a long time because I'm trying to balance production and vault.

I started participating in the crypto and coke show on the official Hive discord server. I also started self-streaming again after 5 months, not new but I hope to be regular.

I'm also trying to be a part of @livinguktaiwan's new initiative Apis Hive. I'm reaching out to Turkish users and trying to involve those who are thinking long term.

I've started the @topcomment curation initiative to reward engagement just like you do with @commentrewarder.

Besides that I'm selling Hive for HBD and the other way around to make some profits.

hiveposh, that's for sure the new thing for me, and recently blusky, i never even heard of it so let's see how it goes

im doing snaps from time to time too, watching people posts on travel who made me remember pre-covid trips i used to do

I've been working on powering up my alt account that focuses on Sports content. For a while I was funneling most of those rewards into my main account, but I decided I want to grow that secondary account as well. My goal this year is 10K HP staked or more.

Honestly, trying to post more on hive since I've been away from it for so long and trying to post at least once a week. Taking even more time to format post and thumbnails. I haven't even used any dapps since I don't know whats currently new on the platform.

Building concepts to a project and then on to a post takes an immense amount of effort and time. Along the way however, I've learned quite a few skills. So in that way for me, is a new thing. Also, I get to flex my creative juice. 💪

For some time now I have been trying to get more involved in the platform and be able to contribute more through my work, but misinformation or lack of guidance on certain topics has been an obstacle. Even so, since the @commentrewarder came out, I have shared it in all my publications to support this excellent initiative and encourage other hivers to also use it 🙂 I have always been clear that Hive is a universe of opportunities for our creativity and it is only a matter of attitude to contribute and work on our platform ☺️

I also started supporting Apis Hive, a recent project to provide guidance and confidence to new hivers ❤️.

Been trying to include much better photos and photography skills into my blogs, especially the cover photos. 99% of upvoters' don't read what is written in there. This implies Snaps is a waste of time too. Most Dapps are mediocre here, but there is a certain game we are all waiting for 'wink wink.'

Yes, i have.

Started a new service/ account, Token.burn for accumulating and burning more than one HE token.

To contribute anyone can add token.burn as beneficiary to their post and share their author rewards. After 7 days when the post is paid out, token.burn will also get paid. Once in a week/month, the accumulated tokens will be burned.
click Link for more details

Difference between token.burn and null (using as beneficiary)

  • If you use null, everything including Hive and HBD will be burned. Whereas, token.burn will use that Hive & HBD to buy more HE tokens and burn them.
  • Tokens like Bee, BHHO etc can be sold in the market and other HE tokens can be bought and burned.

As of now, i have set token.burn as 5% beneficiary to all my posts, except actift, as IOS app doesn't have an option to set beneficiaries.

Yes, its an experiment, which has potential, if everyone contributes.

Please share your thoughts on this, thanks

As long as they're not incentivized to add that account as beneficiary with votes but doing it for the idea it sounds fine to me.

i don't recommend or give incentives, it's 100% voluntary.

Playing crownrend and doing the usually stuff of gaming streams with posts to hive.

Also keeping a closer eye on various developments since things are getting close to release.

Other than that something that is new is actually making some progress on various small projects I got bouncing around in my head.

I'm a hive witness supporting the blockchain please consider voting for me! - Find out more here!

Something new, huh? lets see.. well I am applying to be an OCD onboarder.. to get more involved in hive. :)

I also learned to be a better post maker.. no more copy & paste for me!

The biggest new thing I am doing on Hive is I became a Hive Witness in February.

Awesome!

I am powering up as much as possible and manually voting every day, which is not as organized as of now. Also, trying to write quality blogs on a regular basis is quite challenging with a tight schedule, but cutting down Facebook has helped me a lot to carry out my goal. Only more engagement is left behind, which I am going to fix soon with some proper time management. That's all I think I am focused nowadays on Hive.

I don't think that this counts but...

I just verified my binance account yesterday. And bought some Hive on binance. Normally I was buying credits in splinterlands> buying cards> selling cards> selling DEC in Hive engine. So now the process will be much simpler.

Also I started making digital art relatively recently(at the end of last year).

I've been playing hard on Snaps, and so far, the results have been impressive.

I've been getting more visibility (for my account and the content I publish), more followers, more readers, more rewards and more interactions (which, by the way, allow me to not only do more massive networking, but also learn about ideas from other projects).

Well, I'm playing moon karts because I like its concept.
I have not forgotten about holozing and continue to take my stake zings to the pool while the game comes out and I can open my pack.
I would like to post in that community but I'm not a graphic artist and I see that's what they do most there, I'm more into creating things and putting things together.

Nothing new and innovative on my side. Just going back to basics and refining what i already have.

That means engaging with people on the blockchain more. Trying my hand in blogging too this year.

Hi,

🐝HSBI and pob.bank - long term plan✅

🐝@commentrewarder for interaction✅

🐝Shares on Reddit and Bluesky✅

🐝HIVE PHOTO MAGAZINE - issue two coming out early next week✅

🚀🚀🚀

Well, nothing special, except I got a new microphone (Zoom AM7) for my phone. And I hope that my lo-fi music videos will sound better.
By the way, I think the @blueskyposh stopped, at least in my last post.

Not really. I'm in a bit of a slump, and need to curate more, so if anything, spending more time browsing feeds today is a close as I can get.

It's quite relaxing to do at least once a day, I'm especially enjoying curating snaps lately and I think we could use some more people there and on the other shortform feeds!

I mean shameless self plug here and only since you asked. I am now working on my witness node which is pretty exciting. The witness node will also be used as my operating node for the text based game I am working on which I think is pretty cool.

Also thank you for the follow and reblog @acidyo much love and appreciation brother!

Perhaps, commentrewarding on my musical posts is the only new thing I'm doing. everything else is the same routines. no dapps/snaps, no Peakd AI drawings (tho I plan to try this one, just postpone). ☘️

Should've created an AI image for this post. :D

Using Peakd ofc.
NB -
during the last month I had access to the latest Photoshop version and tested its built-in AI named Firefly. Got sufficient understanding of its capabilities and limits (and also got tonns of lulz, haha). one of the images (the prompt was: standing knee-deep in blood flowing from your eyes):

Hmm, compared to a few months ago, I would say Crownrend, Neon Strike, and doing more travel and food posts!

I use less dapps than 2 months ago because Hivekeychain for mobile gives me problems. 2 months ago I used more dapps: Liketu, Vybrainium, TravelFeed, D.Buzz. I used these apps through HiveKeychain, now I'm having problems on iOS phone. Sorry, but I know the problems will be solved

Have you tried switching nodes on there or doing a hard refresh?

Hi Acidyo, thanks for your suggestion. I think the problem is exactly what you suspect. In fact today I get this message (image attached)

Well, Apis Bees on Hive is kinda new and good for noobs and some of us have a special status so we can claim more to giveaway to new users who need it :D

Well, I am writing a series of articles about the Pi network.

I've started adding a meme of the day to my #themorningbowl show

Well I'm showing this post for a video on Twitter (x), I guess that's new!

I am starting to writing my memories, some times.

Btw why are your comments being downvoted?

I don't know but I've seen lots of users being downvoted lately with same accounts

A vendetta, perhaps :)

Something dumb like that probably.

Just started so everything is new to me.
