peace of mind

in Sketchbook4 years ago

Hello friends! today I'm sharing a drawing a made recently, a recreation of one of my old drawings.
This piece was so peaceful to make and I was really liking the fact that this drawing wasn't planed at all, I was letting myself be carried away by what I felt at the time. That is why this piece is called "peace of mind".

Here are some images of the process of this drawing

First I did the sketch with a simple graphite pencil.

Then I did all the outline with 0.8 and a 0.3 lines black ink pens (brand MICRON)

Once all the lines were traced, I started drawing all the details and contrasts also with black ink pens (0.3 and 0.2 lines)
On this phase of the drawing I wasn't really liking how the character was so "alone" and with no background, so I decided to draw some peonies. I love flowers and I think they fit well with the character and the vibe I was looking for.

With all the details done this is how the drawing looks without background.
For the contrast on the flowers I used a technique called pointillism.

The background was done on the pc using a program called gimp, an image editor basically.
You can see the final result of this piece on the top of this post but here it is with the background done!

Hope you like my art and thanks for all the support!
Take care and stay safe!
