Here are a few more abstract illustrator design for this #trippythursday by @blacklux

There is a light at the end of a spiral cave system. What could be generating this light source and what sort of things might be encountered as an explorer journeys all the way to the end to find out?

Rather than risk anyone's life the explorers sent a highly advanced camera drone through the cave system. These are its five rotating legs that allow it to crawl, slide or jump through any sort of terrain. They are also magnetic just in case they encounter metal surfaces to stick to.

The first discovery is that the cave is not a natural formation at all. The interior is braced with intricate metal alloys making its structure super strong. Some highly advanced machine from eons ago must have carved this system out while simultaneously melting the stone into a smooth surface.

Some strange ramen noodle-like moss has started growing on the base of the tunnel structure. The camera drone used one of its scissor arms to collect a sample to bring back for further analysis. Perhaps this could be used in Asia as a soup garnish.

Every now and then seismic rumblings shake the spiral cave system. Fortunately there are some metallic gyroscopic ball bearings that are activated. They reverberate through the cave system causing it to stabilize and cancel out any rumbling frequencies with equal and opposite frequencies.

Air flow throughout the cave system is regulated via intricate membranes made from tiny magnetically charged particles. They pulse in and out keeping the air flowing. Clearly this thing was developed for oxygen breathing creatures to travel through.

Towards the end of the cave system after about 50 miles worth of drone walking a door is encountered. There is a complex mesh lock system that has to be figured out before it will open. Fortunately the camera drone's AI system was smart enough to decode the lock sequence and open the door.

As it turns out the cave system wasn't really a cave at all but a wormhole tube. Only the first few feet of it were actually carved into stone and the rest was a structure that pierced through time and space to a cave opening on another planet. It appears to be a dead planet full of monoliths still standing from a long extinct race of beings. Perhaps meteor storms caused all their oxygen to burn up in the atmosphere leaving only their buildings behind.

The only thing small enough for the camera drone to bring back was this fossilized pellet looking thing laying on the ground. The AI database on the camera drone recognized similarities of its structure to Monarch butterfly larvae poop. Perhaps this planet used to be inhabited by large caterpillars on the ground and giant butterflies that filled the skies... Scientists on the other side of the wormhole will be eager to dig into this thing for more research... Soon the two caterpillar poop experts on Earth will become very useful for once in their lives.

That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)

But what flavor?

The universal flavor of plain chicken.
