RE: Engage in Hive

in OCD5 years ago

I can express my view and you can express yours, and in combination we will get somewhere wonderful.

Couldn't have said it better in describing ideally how the engagement should look like in here and how diverse could everything be, without falling into niches and seeing some types of content hitting the trending page over and over and others stay under the radar for years. It's diversity, freedom of speech and openness towards almost limitless ways of expressing oneself in here that gives true value for such a platform.

Currently, what is needed from all community members is content, and to spread the reach of that content.

We can work on that, and I guess as longs as there will be rewarded users there will be a flow of content, but as you mentioned POSH, such shares on other social media platforms are mandatory to get more exposure for Hive and attract more users, investors and traffic. I don't have facebook but I was sharing on tweeter almost all of my posts since the summer of 2019, but after that Justin Sun thing and the hard fork really didn't felt like doing that anymore. I started again for a few days to share Hive posts and hope to make it a habit again.

please write a bit more, even if you do not want to.

I would never write more, if I didn't want that, just for the sake of someone asking and I guess that's one reason why Steem and now Hive are not mainstream. It has to be long to be good is an old and dated narrative in my opinion, and to boost engagement even more I believe we need both bloggers, but tweeters as well in here. Some really don't have the patience to read that much and prefer short but relevant posts that they would engage on. My posts for example have on average over 800 words, because I talk a lot and when I write I have the same bad habit of trying to give to my details of the story, but for an artist or a great photographer I wouldn't ask for too much chit chat, really. I mean... I realize that tons of my posts are worthless compared to some photography ones in here where the author spent hours of work taking the pics and editing and those speak for themselves, but I see your point, although not entirely agree with you on this one.

Bottom line I appreciate your initiative and will follow the guidelines. A matter of fact I guess that my last post would fit in this challenge, although you said it's not actually a challenge and I'm glad you said that because I'm not a fan of challenges. Will take this into account and posh as much as possible.

HIVE ON!

No, I am not talking about length for the sake if length. But even in National Geographic level photographs, there are text associated with the photographs. There are text explaining the art work of Cezzane and Van Gogh. Although the later is produced by someone else other than the artist. My point is, an explanation of a piece of art, is not optional; it’s necessary. I hope there is no disagreement here.

No there's absolutely no disagreement. It's constructive communication 😁 and am happy to be part of it. I get your ideas and initiative but not entirely in tune... just about 99%. Curators are as important as creators so thumbs up for the ones supporting any type of content, except spam, in here. A clean and beautiful platform is what I dreamt of for years and tbh it looks quite cleaner than Steem looked like when I joined. It's still on us to polish it even more and to sell it to others.
