thats interesting. my uncle was teaching me zhan zhuang and he said " all i know is that i dont exist" and i was like huh?
Thanks for sharing, your candidness and clarity are refreshing and like a mirror. :)
I agree completely. I have not been a monk in this life, but I learned several years ago after recovering lost memory of past lives that I have been a monk in the Christian 'tradition' before (about 700 years 'ago'). In this life I essentially began my reconnection with spirit during an epic week or so where I was introduced to Zen, Buddhism, Sacred Gemoetry and my own higher self without any planning. Enlightenment is simply 'understanding'. I experienced zen enlightenment directly, but also never bought into any dogma from anyone else, so I was able to take the 'tools' of meditation and the original essence of Buddhism and use them in my own way.
It is not desire that is the root of suffering. The root of suffering is denial. Denial will have you thinking that x is y when it is not. Denial of denial will have you claiming that you really haven't denied anything. There's no way out of that other than enlightenment and fluidity of thought/emotion that is sufficient to allow new light to enter.
At this point the vast majority of 'thought' both inside and outside of religion is ultimately serving one main function - death. Deeper understanding and inquiry is needed. For me, this equates to genuinely choosing life and the path that leads to genuine liberation without death. Of course, no-one will ever know if anyone else achieves it unless they turn into some kind of ball of light, start showing epic level abilities and/or lives till 200+ years in chronological, linear time (or something similar). The only way any naysayers will ever know if they are right or wrong is for them to join the quest for evolution beyond death.
Healing, Balancing & Evolving are the triad of intentions that light the way. <3

Very interesting to hear. Though I can’t say I have experience at a level comparable with yourself, I did dabble heavily in Buddhism for a couple years and kind of came to the same conclusion - that the point had been missed, perhaps by misinterpretation of the reductive reasoning.
As always, I very much enjoy your talks!

Hey man. I’ve only watched like the first ten minutes so far, but already sheepishly regret jumping in so unbounded. I do think a lot of memes and stuff go around right now putting false words in the Buddha’s mouth. I also think that personally, mantras like the Amitabha Buddha mantra (some claim you’ll achieve a higher reincarnation by simply remembering to utter these words on repeat as the life leaves the body…even if it’s true and it works, which very well could be the case, but I don’t care) are a shortcut and they miss the point of utilizing this lifetime to the fullest. I like ideas in the tibetan book of the dead, but also this school feels much like cheating a way around the point, or like trying to solve a maze by starting at the end. So for me, I think that while Buddhism in its truest form is timeless, there are many new schools of Buddhism now that do seem to muddy the waters somewhat. I should have been more cautious though, because I don’t particularly believe that all true Buddhism is gone from the land or the hearts of men.
I’m gonna check out the rest of your video till just cuz I dig your stuff and I like listening, but I wanted to just say this real quick cuz I tarted the video as soon as I saw you’d commented the link and I don’t want to let the conversation go stale.
Peace my dude!
I will forgive your misunderstanding of the Amitabha recitation. I'm a practiioner of the Pure Land discipline, and in the West it is virtually unknown that people, from the earliest of Han Dynasty to even now, people have entered into the Pure Land this way.
I am born in the 21st century so am a skeptic at heart, but after decades of investigation on finding the facts and evidence, i can tell you i have it. I have here a tome, massive tome, of people from the Han til the 1930s-50s era, all who practice the Pure Land way.
But i'm not here to shove it down your throat, just wanted to let you know thy misunderstanding and it is understandable and forgivable.
Regarding the "not taking the present life in full", that is also a misunderstanding...this misunderstanding is an age old one that spans all cultures east and west. But a word to the wise is sufficient, the Buddha taught people to take the present life very very seriously, because the future is built on such a thing. Take it from me.
The King of all Buddhist Sutras is the Avamtamsaka Sutra (search it up on Wiki), and at the very end of ending chapters of this profound Sutra, the lesson/Dharma of the Pure Land was expounded in order to complete the entire journey of Buddhahood. So the Pure Land Dharma is no joke.
Have you seen my recent response to Cahlen's vid "Response to Buddhism is Corrupt"? I posted it on my odysee channel (you can find the link on the front page of my account page here on hive/peakd. Its very long, but its worth your time. I also did a follow up vid (also long) called "textbook spirituality", it may be your cup of ice cream.
It's refreshing to get to talk to someone like you with an open mind and inquisitiveness. It's been my great pleasure as an Easterner to be able to converse with people like you, it makes it less lonesome for me.
Take care fella, speak soon!
I’ve never heard of the Pure Land discipline/school(/whatever lol), but I don’t doubt for one second its existence, nor do I doubt the truth in it. I think you have to walk the path to know, and even then, I suspect there is no knowing really attainable for most. Even in the bardo, clear vision is an nearly unattainable feat. Personally, I think most of the religions out there were started by their own Buddha, if Buddha can be defined as “awakened one.” They all get hijacked by greed-laden interests, who don’t want the world of man to realize the simple truths of life. I think there have been destructive powers at work for as long as we’ve been here, working to hide the truth from men tbt they may enslave them to their desires for personal profit. I’m not commenting to get into that right now though, so please excuse me and I’ll move on :)
The only thing I know, is that I exist in some capacity. Maybe it’s all a simulation and my consciousness is on a thumb dive - how would I know? Maybe I’m a physical human on the physical earth…but I don’t know that to be the case. I know that I percieve that to be the case, but my perception is defined internally, by the brain that interprets the signals from my peripherals (ie eyes, nose, touch, etc)…so by the fact that I perceive in the first place, I know that my consciousness exists and is real, but all else I can only grasp at the clues. It’s quite exciting, really :)
I did see the response video. Well, the first 10 minutes or so, but I intend to finish it. I lead a busy life, so I end up with like 30 minutes for watching videos each week - but comment a link to the other one, (or post a link to it in the magick community on hive - this is exactly the kind of discussion I built the community for, the magick of life, spirituality - and buried in all the tiny details of every moment we spend existing - our world is made up of something finer than could ever be conjured by the greatest sorcerer ;) …in any case, I’ll watch it, I enjoy your talks, and now you’ve further piqued my interest.
I gotta get my kids in the bath or I may have said a lot more, but I wanted to get a response out before it loses context. Take’r easy my dude, you’re a legit chiller and I’ll definitely be seeing you around.
All religion is corrupt.
I agree with you. We don't have to look for God in religions, he is in each one of us and in the beauty of the nature he gave us. Power generally corrupts.

A community with 6 members is considered a viable alternative? Seems like you guys should just delete OCD if that's how you see things.
Alternative? You should be posting in the right community, based on the topic of the post.
A community with 6 members is a community that can be grown.
Why have OCD at all?
You can find the answer to your question by reading the community rules, publicly listed.
You guys should just delete the group.
The only real purpose is to direct people to other communities (even if there's only 6 members, lol), which requires that you constantly monitor the feed and copy/paste lecturing the creator how they messed up. That's annoying for everyone involved.
I know you don't see it as lecturing, but that's how it comes off.

The truth always emerge again and again,
But a force exist that always corrupt it to avoid the massive system failure truth for everyone would have generate.
And yes, despite not having a close relation with Buddhism as you I came to the same conclusions.
I exist, I have an experience inside a body. My body won't last forever, I will.
But this experience with time come to look more and more like a prison break.
We are grown into this world to be harvested again and again and again.
The final level, is get out of there, break the reincarnation cycle, get free.
