Fellow hivers and OCD fellowship, this one goes to you above all the rest. Last year around September i got really sick, i was not aware at the time but i had developed Guillain-Barre Syndrome.
By the time i got to the hospital, 3 weeks after i started having pain and discomfort in my lower back, i was already unable to move my face and part of my neck, the attending doctor, told me i was really lucky, in general people dont even walk when they get to the ICU in the state i was in. Some of the symptoms i had were:
- Weakness in your legs that spreads to your upper body
- Unsteady walking or inability to walk or climb stairs
- Difficulty using facial muscles, making it hard to speak, chew or swallow
- Double vision or inability to move the eyes
- Severe pain that may feel achy, shooting or cramplike and may be worse at night
- Rapid heart rate
- Low or high blood pressure
There are more and other kinds of symptoms but this ones are the ones that really got me down
This is me on the second day of treatment, took 10 days with daily treatment of intravenous
This is out of the ICU and recovering:
Now why am i telling you all this? Well this episode is really tight together with my lack of hive work, recruitment and general participation on usual games and sites. Before my last streams that i used to post into @vimm, i was already down, but once i got this treatments and recovered enough to go home, i could not do anything at all! i Was numb and really fatigued all the time, no reaction time, reflexes strength NOTHING! i was kind zombie to be honest.
This brings us to the present day and the work i been doing (for myself) since i realized this was probably a covid sequel and something i did not want to suffer from the rest of my life. Having researched something into it and others particular things my body was reacting i been making changes for the least 4 months and i am proud to say i am READY to come back and work! On the games and streams front i wont be doing it for now at least, i am super bored and sad about GodsUnchained, it became really boring to me and i wont be doing it anymore, if it is not fun i wont play, i rather focus my time and efforts on hive and other games instead of forcing myself to play GU when it clearly is not being satisfactory for me.
I am also much more into growing and branching out, i been changing my food (will post more about that and other life option) and exercising everyday, part of my developing program to keep (and cure) this Guillain-Barré syndrome.
So last but not least this is the day i am ready to get out of the hospital! you can see i was already happy and much better looking by that time
If you deal or dealt with Guillain-Barré syndrome and you have any experience/advice you like to share, please feel free to use the comments i will be happy to respond. Since having this i realize pos covid a lot of people developed things of the same sort, i will be posting more and more my routines and changes i did to my lifestyle and diet to share with other, again leave you own experience on the comments i will surely read/get back to any of you.
Cheers to all of you that had the time and patience to hit me up during this difficult months, you are appreciated!
I’m sorry to hear you haven’t been well. That’s just terrible, but it seems your road to recovery shines bright.
As for GU, would you speak to your fatigue with it in another post? It’s a pity, but I’m all for maintaining one’s peace- Overwatch and I have a similar relationship: irks me to no end some days.
It may not be appropriate to ask, but would you consider even sharing your experience with me? Helping me build a better deck?
As long as coaching isn’t too close to playing and you’re open, I’d appreciate your help. Looking forward to more of your shares 👍🏾
for sure i will leave my discord and you add me i will invite you to a server were we can talk and use for this purpose bro, plus you have some other great players there also.
add me on disc brother! Fëanor#9605
Will do! I’m DBK#9999 if you see the invite!
Got it bro! i have a day out today, but soon i get home i touch base with you in discord again!
Feanor my friend! Really happy to see a long post from you! Let me know what games you get into. You got me to sign up for a free NFT from a game a few months ago, but now I've forgotten what it was! We went on to discord and said something like "I want the green one!" and got that nft. What was that?
Also, look into blocklords. I just wrote a post about it, but it actually looks like it could be fun. Several of us from GodsUnchained are going to give it a go. It's still just beta/demo at the moment, but the NFTs are cheap and the gameplay looks good (see my post).
Anyway, glad you are getting stronger. Look forward to you streaming again soon with whatever game you're playing.
i will look into it, the one free mint i got into that was a trading card game was the Titans of War but that shit went bad, someone minted all the good cards hahaha
The doctor told you the right thing you were very lucky to still have mobility, my brother got that disease and was paralyzed from neck to feet, thank God you are recovering blessings and take care of yourself.
Ty for the kind words! indeed she explained to me the older you are and the less active the worst it is, part of what helped me was that despite the pain, since day 1 i went everyday to run and stretch thinking it was something physical...
My heart goes out to you and yours @nill2021, i will be posting some of the things i changed in my life, the ones that made me get my eyes and face movement back this might help others so keep posted! cheers
A positive attitude and desire to live helps a lot for recovery thank you for sharing your story blessings and may you continue to recover blessings 💕.
