People shouldn't need any incentive to engage except the reward engagement brings itself, but many do. Those who engage continually and with relevance will push their account, and enjoyment, upwards. People have the choice of what to do and will reap the rewards commensurate to their efforts.

The rewards can come in many, many forms too. Sometimes they don't even seem like rewards in the beginning. Life is strange and connections can occasionally lead in to areas we could never have foreseen. I have seen chance encounters lead to project partnerships, friendships and on a previous site I know a couple who married.
As usual I am being extreme and rambling but life is bizarre and has many twists, who knows, right?
I met a friend on a previous platform through being curated, I became a curater for her on the strength of that one interaction, soon after we hosted Discord curation shows together and from that I ended up with my own weekly show... Like I say one comment can lead to...
I guess taking action if some sort puts a person in a position for something to happen. Sometimes good, sometimes not; One never knows until it actually happens. Doing the right things, having the right attitude, will often lead to an advantageous result though, or a failure that then leads to enlightenment and success.
Also if you are out there 'in the field' where stuff is happening, you have a sporting chance. This is where all human life is happening. We are all familiar with the expression...
