I've had a terrible week y'all. It's been an emotional rollercoaster, a ride that I didn't choose to take, and never purchased a ticket for. I just sort of found myself on it and had no choice but to move along with it.
I don't really want to go into it right now really, suffice it to say that I've been dealing with some things on behalf of my ailing father and have had to make some tough decisions, and accept some brutal truths. I've also had to be a little stern but here isn't the place for it though, so just accept the fact that it's been difficult, and in this respect, my dad's situation, things will only get more difficult as time passes.
So, I haven't smiled all week, not with any conviction anyway. I had a few work meetings with clients and forced a smile or two, but my heart wasn't in it, just my face. I need a smile though, to feel like I want to smile, and so this weekend I'm going to work on it and see what I can make happen. I'm sick of being grumpy.
This image was taken a little while ago right before I did some fishing. Yep, that's me smiling at ya! I wasn't grumpy at all, that came later when I caught no fish.
My mate is behind me grabbing some gear out of my truck and getting prepared to carry it all to the fishing spot, a cool spot near the Fleurieu Peninsula of South Australia. It was a good day spent fishing, talking shit, eating snacks, laughing, relaxing and not thinking about anything else but our own enjoyment. It's the sort of weekend I'm hoping for this weekend. I need a weekend of that nature to be honest. Quite badly.
Oh, just to clarify...I'm terrible at fishing so we probably won't be doing that. I mean I can fish but I find it much easier, and productive, to hit up my local fish and chip shop than actually catch the fish myself however I go now and then. My mates like having me along as it makes them look like experts. So no fishing, unless fishing for smiles is a thing.
This weekend is a three-day affair with a public holiday taking place on Monday. We would normally be 600 kilometres from home away camping in the Flinders Ranges but this weekend we're home, which is another reason not to smile...You guys know how much I love camping but the flue sort of messed up our plans. Still, we'll make the most of it and with any luck I'll crack a smile or two as well.
The weather looks like it's going to be reasonably sunny and about 14°C so we have got a long hike planned for Sunday and a picnic on Monday, probably with Faith's mum. Saturday we'll be catching up with a couple friends for a coffee in the middle of the day and I'll mow and edge the lawn and keep busy around the house for the afternoon before having a fire pit and making burgers Saturday night. Cold nights and fire pits plus burgers at the G-dog's house are a legit way to spend a Saturday. You're all welcome of course, just let me know you're coming and I'll post my home address in the comments below.
It'll be a good weekend I think, easy-going, laid back, a guideline of events with no real fixed plans and time to dedicate to myself and Faith, rather than focus on work or dad's needs. A nice break.
I don't mind dealing with my dad's issues; I'm the only one of my family here so I have no choice in the matter. He's my dad so I'm going to take care of it of course and I understand that my family can't do much themselves considering how far away they are. I know they would if they could though.
It's an unfortunate byproduct of the scenario that I get grumpy, worried, overwhelmed, stressed and emotional along the way and that leaves me frowning...I'm actually not too much of a smiler at the best of times I guess. This weekend though, I'll be fishing for them, smiles. And with a little friend-socialising, fire pit and burgers plus hiking and a picnic on the hook I reckon I'll jag one or two for sure. Maybe I'll capture it on a selfie for you.
So, now it's your turn to tell me what you've got planned for the weekend. It may not be a long weekend like mine, but I'm hoping you've got something cool planned, something that puts a smile on your own mug and makes you happy. So...Tell me.

There comes a time in life when being grumpy is the best of what you can do. Fishing seems a great hobby, I would ease my mission, put a net and throw some already captured fishies just to spare myself of the trouble😂😂
You got great plans for the weekend, burgers and barbecue and sitting outside will most likely bring a smile. Arhhhh if I were there I would have definetely joined. A virtual burger will do I guess🍔😂😂 I plan to go and have a read in my park and take my camera maybe I could capture some stuff. Fresh air and letting my mind breath kind of a weekend. Maybe a facepainting? Hmmm I'll see.
I'm pretty average at actual fishing but have ninja-skills at fishing at the fish and chip shop. Lol.
It should be a good weekend I think, I'll read too of course, that always happens. We will probably take books on our picnic. We rarely go anywhere without books just in case an opportunity to read comes up. Burgers and fire pits at my place is where its at I assure you...Just us this weekend though, unless someone from the hive decides to come over. Romania to Adelaide is a long way for a burger though, no matter how good they are!
A virtual burger is much better. Yum I can already taste the aroma🍔😋😂😂 A picnic outside with friends is a great way to spend the free time, I hope you will get your smile back and extra fat😂
What do you mean extra fat? As if I am fat already but need to get more fat? Lol
Hahhah. I think I was actually thinking of what I would do if I would be you in this weekend 🤔🍔🍔🍔😂nom nom nom
Lol, well I can assure you I'll be doing what I can to get a little fatter. I make good burgers...Although I have to make two different ones since Faith is vegetarian...But that's ok, after 33 years of that I'm used to it.
You're missing out on G-dog burgers...
I rarely eat meat too, but once in a while I fall into temptation🍖😂 You're such a tease, I am missing it for sure. Just to spite you look on how many burgers I can have and don't get fat 🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔 yum yum🤣🤣🤣
Best of the weekend to you mate hope you find them smiles 😊. I am visiting a friend for a day or two and no long weekend in Queensland this weekend ☹️
Bugger, no long weekend for you? That sucks. Well, you got two days ahead of you so hang out with your friend, make some memories and make the most of what you have! All the best.
Thanks mate and all the best to you both.
Nothing planned this side for the weekend as hear this morning that our "State of Emergency" has been extended to the 15th of July. A court judgement stated that our laws are not in line with our constitution, due to the draconian rules for the covid situation and as usual, the findings are appealed. Meaning that the rules stay in place.
Sorry to hear about your tough week, but destiny has placed it in your hands, as you are the right one to sort it all out.
Hope that you will find a true smile somewhere this weekend.
A weekend in...All the better to hive with! Sucks that you haven't started to come out of COVID restrictions though. 15th July? Seems like a long time, but then I guess they need to look at the situation and act accordingly. I would have thought they'd want to get the economy moving though. We are officially in a recession here so the government want to get things kicking off again.
Have a great weekend though, no matter what you do, and I'll see you around at some point here I'm sure.
Not totally in as in in my friend. There's always a way that a way can be found! Just playing with some words.
You go and have yourself a great time and hopefully you will come back with a genuine smile on your dial.
Take care and enjoy!
Ps. Did you see my post yesterday with the coin?
To be honest yesterday wasn't a good day and I spend most of it in the phone for my dad or trying to conduct client meetings and working so I didn't get to read it. I saw it though, and hope to catch up over the next few days as I've missed quite a few posts through being busy.
Am with you in this believe it or not.
Pace yourself and do not let the world get at you during these times my friend. I am in no hurry and the post was only meant to assist you.
All strength to you during these times!
It's tough mate, thinking of ya and you are doing the right thing. Gotta arrange things to make you feel better.
My weekend is dedicated to beer. I don't really talk about it much but this month is the month my dad died last year and I am getting a bit wobbly. I might overcompensate way the weekend with the sauce. Daft, but hey, it cheers me up
Thanks man. I didn't realise your dad died so recently, I'm sorry. Sauce it up my man, no reason not to. I'll hoist one in honour Saturday night, and I'll make a burger in his name also.
I saw the wound on my dad's foot yesterday, the one that hasn't healed for 10 months...It's horrific, and I'm not a stranger to that sort of thing. It broke me down, knowing that my dad deals with it. He shouldn't have to. Today was...A bit of a shocker really, but I have to do what I do because my dad cannot. I'm a tough dude but I broke down a couple times today. With work as well, clients...It's been a tough week.
I'm looking forward to the weekend and to hanging with Faith...I'd be with her now but she's watching that old movie My Fair Lady and well...Yeah, not my thing. Lol.
Thanks for your message mate, I appreciate it and thank hive for allowing people reach across the world and offer a stranger some comfort.
Even the toughest of us break down. Nowt wrong with letting it out. Throwing work into the mix as well, what a shitstorm it can feel like.
Aye, the weekend will sort you, that's just what you need a reset point before getting back into the thick of it.
Aye, it was only last year, I didn't talk about it much. Walled up Scottish folk :0D hoist a burger, he would have laughed at that!
Consider a burger hoisted. I may hoist some potato wedges dipped in sweet chilli sauce and sour cream too... And then some corn chips and salsa...Maybe a coffee and cake later as well...All for your dad mate, the Big-dawg-Boom! :)
!ENGAGE 25
I like your hoisty style! I will hoist one for you and yours dudeski. Mine might be a wetter hoisting though! :OD

tokens. This really hit me close to home because I've been struggling to actually crack a genuine smile for so long. Every now and then I may laugh and shit but it is just on the surface.
It is tough sometimes uncle G but you have to stay strong and do the most you can. In Nigeria, we have a saying that goes "I can't come and go and kill myself by myself" which basically means do what you can but also remember to enjoy life, but people like us find it hard to just genuinely let go and just enjoy the moments. Reality is always so serious and the seriousness doesn't seem to be subsiding.
I'm glad you're taking some time away from life's issues to just enjoy a smile here and there, with some good laughs. I'd have loved to come if I was in Australia, maybe one day in the future. I like to drink a few beers and play a video game when I need an escape from life's troubles. Over time, I've learnt that life has an endless supply of problems and if we dwell on them too much, they'll just weigh you down.
Those issues that pervade your mind may still pop up when you're trying to enjoy yourself, so just try your best to laugh and just be in the moment. My prayers are with your dad and your entire family. Stay strong Uncle G
Thanks for your nice message mate, I appreciate it.
Yep, life can be a little complicated at times; I usually have it pretty-well under control but this thing with my dad is pretty difficult to deal with. There is no compromise, no room for inaction, as it is my dad and will do what is required. I did the same for my mum when she had cancer and passed away in quite terrible circumstances and it's starting to feel a little like that now with my dad.
It's been tough for sure, but I've dealt with worse. For my dad I'll do what's required, and of course, keep myself healthy and under control.
This weekend will be good I think. The work phone is off and won't go back on until Tuesday morning so it's just me, my wife Faith and the weekend...I'm hoping not to get a call from the nursing home for my dad, but if it happens I'll deal with it. I'm a responsible dude and will do what's required.
Look out for a smiley selfie!
I'm sorry about your dad's situation and I'll keep praying for the best. Yeah a smilie selfie will be awesome, and maybe even throw in some teeth in the smile? too much to ask for a grin? I like grins
Aww dude, I'm not sure about a grin-selfie...I'll see what I can do, maybe I'll see if I can get one of the two of us...It might take the focus off the fact I'm a fucking ugly bastard to have Faith in it! Lol.
Thanks mate, dad has lead a good life, has been a good dad, generous and honest, kind and humble...We work to make what he has left as comfortable as possible because he deserves it.
Nice idea, you could even stand like 3m away from the camera to ensure there's more focus on her but hey, a grin is a grin lol. Stay strong Uncle G, and my regards to the family.
3m should do it...Or just put a bag on my head with a cut out for my grin to show.

The last time I went fishing I almost copped a hook in my lip...Wouldn't have been smiling if it happened, but would have stopped for a selfie!
I really hope that your weekend turns out just as you planned it. It sounds great and enjoy every minute. We are not allowed to visit with friends. 😞
Yeah, you're still locked down in SA right? That sucks. I heard until mid July?
We should have a good weekend I think...will be good to switch up for a bit, relax and recharge. Have a good one huh?

tokens.Sorry to read you had a tough week. Hopefully, a better one is to come ;)
I've been quite busy the past week, it's been (I think) 4 days since I made a post or properly engaged, ouch. But for good reasons..
This weekend not much planned yet, I've been shopping the past two days for a lot of things but not groceries (lol) so that should be done first, the rest depends on the mood I guess :)
Enjoy the weekend ;)
Retail therapy huh? Sounds fun. I'll be doing that soon as the end of financial year sales will be on in a week. Time to buy Lego at 25% off!
Who needs groceries! Lol.
Have a great weekend.
Lol, yeah sort of. Didn't plan on buying a lot of (mainly) clothes but just accidentally found them and I love when shopping goes smooth. Not a fan of strolling through stores for hours and hours to find stuff.. So retail therapy is great, IF I can find what I want/need quickly :)
Lego with 25% discount is much better than full price. And correct, can always go out for food right :) lol
You too
Oops, I tripped and bought these clothes. 😂
I think I might make the same excuse when I buy Lego.
Yeah, it's bloody expensive so I try and only buy it on sale. I have a $125 voucher from frequent flier miles too so it's even better. I've got my eye on a Lego Technic crane. I might also trip over and buy a race car and carrier truck as well. 🤔
Hahahahhahha, it wasn't like that!!! lolol.. I meant, I was actually checking for one thing quickly, which they didn't have and then I ended up buying all these other things instead. Lol. But honestly, it would be great if I tripped and had all these clothes instead of having to fit them and all :)
I see you plan on tripping a lot in the near future lol, safe trips!
😂
So...Oops, needed one thing, saw other things and bought all of them instead. Good strategy.
I hate that looking, gathering and change room process, especially if things aren't fitting right.
Have a great weekend huh?

My father is a huge fan of this activity and since I was very young he used to take me with him. We still do it from time to time when we meet after a long while :D
I hope you managed to catch something. I'm not so good at it but give it a good go. I suppose I could feed myself in a crisis, but if there's no crisis, and there's a fish and chip nearby...It's easier to buy some! 😁
Have a good weekend.
Oh, I did! A lot actually! But I never keep the fish. I am an animal lover and I prefer to set them free afterwards :)
Have a great weekend too!!! :D
Hello dear friend @galenkp Good morning
I am very sorry for the stressful situation you have been going through, I had this experience of dealing with my grandparents when I was just a child and learned firsthand what you are experiencing.
Maybe you should fish with weapons like @ papa-pepper does in his carp hunting, there he would be one of the best fishermen.
Your weekend plan seems like a good option. That you enjoy it very much.
Practice more smiles is good for the body, a smile makes many muscles of the body work.
I wish you an excellent weekend
I normally just toss a few hand grenades into the water and wait for the fish to float to the surface...They get stunned by the percussion and it's a simple matter of collecting them.
Not really of course. No actual fishing this weekend, but hope to have a good weekend and recharge a little. Dealing with scenarios like this can be difficult as you know.
Thanks for your comment, I hope you also have a great t weekend.
Have fun and share some of the fish you catch!!!
Thanks mate, have a good weekend yourself. Hopefully you have something good planned.
Alas, I've got no smiles for you this weekend. Unless you are a sadist and will smile at me changing the oil in my beater Toyota in 43C temps.
First off, I'm retired and old. Weekends are just like weekdays except more young people around on the weekends.
Second, I'm getting ready for a pretty long road trip (starting NEXT weekend) to see friends and family. In fact, I'm going to meet some family for the first time. I was adopted at birth and just have found my birth family. So I'm going to meet a brother and two sisters for the first time later this month. If that doesn't make you smile you might want to check your pulse.
I know some of what you are dealing with, I had to do that detail with my father. I just let out a big sigh and that about covers it. I wish you strength and love and compassion for the man that was.
Thanks mate, for your comment and engagement.
Pretty cool that you're meeting your family for the first time, I hope that goes well for you. I'm sure it will.
So, 43...Where are you? That's what we get here in Summer, hotter in fact. I'm not a big fan of the heat despite being born here and being used to it. 18-22°C is more my style.
This situation is a bit difficult and whilst normally I do a good job, this week has been particularly difficult. My main focus is that my dad is comfortable, and pain free...He's the one suffering the most and I owe him that.
Anyway, have a good weekend, stay cool.
I'm in Yuma, Arizona. The sort of Northwest edge of the Sonoran Desert. One of the hottest places on earth, obviously. We will get to 45C a time or two this summer and have been as high as 48C. It's wonderful in the winter 😂 Literally 365 day motorcycle riding area. I went 5 years without a car before I got a dog. He's a fussy bugger about where he rides.
And the heat changed literally overnight. It's 20C right now with a high of only 34 predicted today. Putting off my oil change was a genius choice. I hope you smile early and often this weekend.
It sounds like here too, in summer. Same sort of temperatures, often for weeks on end.
interesting and identify it with me since I like to fish, I am very sorry for the situation whatever your father is, but we should only thank God for the good and bad that he presents us, but as you say we must often sacrifice smile from where he does not We have to appear to be well and be able to forget for a second our daily problems and more when they are direct family members and we are the only ones who have to deal with them. Whenever I can I caught that relaxes and entertains me for a while, it is more the beach, the waves that is already enough comforting for me .. I wish all your problems improve a little and try to keep your smile happy day.
Thanks for your comment. I'm sure we will have a nice weekend, recharge our batteries and be ready to support my dad moving forward. It's important to look after yourselves, keep ourselves on track, so that we are able to look after those around us.
I hope you have a good weekend also.

Well, I'm not actually going fishing, which I say in the post, quite clearly, however it seems you are so I hope you manage to jag a few and have a great time. Have a great weekend and thanks for your comment.
This post reminded me that I haven't been fishing for a long time.
I like a bit of fishing, although am realistic when it comes to my skills which are not very developed. It's more about hanging out with some mates more than anything else. No fishing this weekend, well, not for fish...Just smiles. 🤔
Have a good weekend yourself.
Life is like that sometimes. I know exactly what you mean about the smiles but feeling empty or not sincere about it. But it will pass. Tough decisions must be made from time to time. But the dark days do not last forever. Just keep going! Hope you can can a genuine smile soon enough. You know I've felt that way before. Sometimes for months. But stay positive and the brighter day and mood will come. Hang in there! Nature is a great way to find some peace too.
As for me this weekend, if the rains lets off a little bit I would love to take my kayak out. Sometimes I stay out on the water for hours. Just slowing drifting. So weather permitting, that's what I'll do. If not, then maybe just a quick ride on the bicycle between downpours. Keep strong @galenkp.
I've been very good at keeping my attitude in the right place mostly in life but this situation hits close to home so has a different effect. Still, I'm handling it, and doing what's required for my dad, and myself too, hence smile fishing this weekend.
I kayak also, too cold now though, but looking forward to taking as things warm up in a few months. I understand the drifting thing on the water, so relaxing. I do that on the river, just let it take me wherever it wants to.
I hope you get a bike ride in...No (or very little) rain here this weekend so we'll make the most of it, have some fun and recharge.
Thanks for commenting.

tokens.I replied on @acesontop post yesterday, telling him about how much I love large water bodies and how rare it is to find one in Benue State Nigeria except the river Benue which is mostly dirty during rainy season and you must wait till dry season to have good water for recreation. The fact that you are doing some activities to make you happy despite sad events means alot. Sometime ago I was battling with depression after a relationship with somebody that I almost lost my life in the process, it was in an obsessive compulsive disorder, my friends will come and take me out so that we can go and listen to some loud music and dance. I love them for that. Have a great 3 days weekend my friend and that fishing activity is what I have never done, looking forward to it.
I live in Adelaide on the south coast of Australia so we have a lot of ocean coastline. I don't live far from the beach and spend a lot of time there. The sound of the waves, constant motion of the water, is relaxing to me.
Sorry to hear that you had some troubles, however the good thing is that you have your friends around you to support you and help you have some fun. Depression can be difficult to deal with but with the right support around it can be somewhat easier. All the best for your weekend.

Yeah, that was taken a while ago, back when I had few troubles and the ability to crack a smile. Have a good weekend.
Hi Uncle G, The only eventful thing that is happening this weekend is that I will be going to a friends house to meet up with other guys who we play FIFA against each other on sunday. Besides that, reading, writing repeat.
Remember that post we talked about? I just made it :)
So, seems like you'll be administering some ass-kicking to your friends, showing them who rules the pitch. Not a bad thing, unless they give you one in return!
I'm not much of a gamer, haven't played a computer game for 20 years, but used to enjoy it.
I remember talking about that post and have read it. It was good and I hope a lot of people read it. I like that you've had some good commenting on it as well. People could learn from your experiences.
Have a good weekend.
Ah I'm literally a basket, they kick my ass every time, only sometimes I get lucky, those are the days I look forward to, so my laugh can be the loudest hehe,,..
For 20 years!!!No wayyyyyyyyy.....not even your shooting games where you could be a soldier like Call of Duty???
Yeah I do hope they do....
Yeah, I was 30 when I played a video game the last time. Ghost Recon. I prefer real life I guess, although it would be cool to have a gaming console as I love Formula One and it would be cool to play that...I haven't got one though, maybe one day.
Like every curfew, I will sit on the balcony and drink my coffee while watching the rain. If I have enough luck, I paint a little bit there. I'm not as creative as anyone. I just want to be realistic. If you can't get out of an apartment, the best thing to do is art..
You're still locked down? We've been lucky here in that we knocked the virus on the head quite well so we have come out of our restrictions quickly. There are some still, but we can move about quite freely and most things are open.
It can be difficult to stay motivated in times like this but doing some art is a good way to keep occupied...And coffee is another good companion.
A pity you can't get out and about, but I hope you have as good a weekend you can.

I'm fortunate to have a lot of respect for my dad, to feel that he did the best he could do in my upbringing and deserves the best until the end. It is with that in mind I work towards making his last moments as comfortable as possible.
Thanks for your comments. Have a good weekend.
I caught a nine pounder carp only a few days back and it ripped my twenty pound braided leader just as I took it out of the water. I dont know how this is even possible but it happened anyway. It was a good day untill my shimano caused a back lash and the bearings got jammed somehow.
You would not believe me if I said fishing. I have access to a local pond that houses some nice chunky siamese carps.. Some 14 pounder sweet water goodness too if im lucky..
Everyone has a fishing story huh? I think that's the good part of fishing, hanging out with friends, chatting, talking crap and just relaxing. I'll not be dipping a line this weekend but hopefully you bring in that 14 pounder! How do you cook them up?
Yeah exactly. Fishing is just an excuse for hanging out while doing something that is so primal yet soothing. Don't know about relaxing though. cause when they start biting, sometimes its just chaos.
Never really caught anything bigger then ten ponds. those 14 pounders sometimes seem like myths though TBH. Ive seen others bring home even bigger ones. but never had such luck. Hopefully tomorrow Ill be free from that curse.
I hope you managed to bring that 14 pounder in!
Yep, there's something nice about just hanging out and talking but many conversations have been interrupted by a bite...And never gotten back to...But that's just fishing.
I hope you've had a good weekend so far.
No luck mate :(. Got some 4 pounders. wasn't allowed to keep them.. So came home empty handed:(
Bummer! But I bet you had some fun...Hopefully anyway.
Yeah being with friends after such a long lock down was fun. Could've been better though.
After reading the title I was trying to decide if you were fishing for smiles, or fishing with smiles. :)
Hope you have a good weekend, it is supposed to rain like crazy here so not sure if any outside time will happen. I guess we shall have to see.
Yeah, many comment without reading my posts, just based on the title and image...Mostly they comment without relevance though as my content may not always reflect the title. I enjoy doing it as it shows me who takes the time to read.
So, no fishing this weekend, not for fish anyway...Although I may hit my local fish and chip shop for some yummy goodness!
It sounds like a good weekend to stay in with all that rain coming up your way. I'm sure you'll find something to keep busy with.
Fish and chips, very tasty! I will have to have some again soon.
We have fish and chips Friday most weeks. Tradition.
Very nice. The local brewpub currently has it on their menu as an all-the-time option. So, about once a week, we order from there and that is what I get. They usually change things up every once in a while so I expect it will go away, but I plan to enjoy it while I can.
I hope they leave it on the menu for you. I would not like to hear that you are fish and chipless.
Well, it is still on there as of yesterday as that is what I had for dinner last night. :)
This weekend... hmmm... I'll hopefully be avoiding disaster, while possibly starting a large new project a little ahead of schedule. Your post makes me realize that we need to get out and do something refreshing if the sun is out. At least for a few hours. Maybe we'll find a way to visit with Audie's family or something.
Sending you telepathic smile power. Let me know when you get it. (There may be a small delay because of distance. Hopefully, I'll get the trajectory right - accounting for the Coriolis effect, and all that... :)
I hope that you can avert disaster and if not then I hope you're content with what you did in your attempt to avert it. That's what counts.
You have to take care of yourself, I refer also to myself here, hence my drive towards a little sacred-selfishness this weekend. We need it, to stay strong for us and others. If we are not right those we try to help will not be.
Visit with family of you can, a phone call or text if you can't visit. Those things mean so much, for them and yourselves. Life is unforgiving, often brutal and sometimes our of our control, but we can control how we act, show gratitude and value towards others. I know you know it already.
So, seems like you sent it, the smile-power, after carefully considering the science...Should arrive without a doubt. Have a good weekend.
You too, brother. :)

Sounds like you are dealing well with a tough situation. I'll be grilling up some burgers and watching UFC tomorrow. Some great matchups if you are a fan of MMA! Hang tough.
It's a bit tough, but we're working through it. Many have the same issues, or worse. Having a weekend off, fire pit and burgers, will make a difference.
It sounds like you've got a good one on the boil too. I'll be watching some sport too, maybe some MMA also actually. My wife hates it so I have to distract her, but I'll make it work.
Have a great weekend mate, thanks for your reply.

tokens. Some tough things hit you in life and you just forget how to smile. Like you said, you're not a good smiler anyway but just take it easy. I'm sure you enjoyed fishing and hanging out with your mate.
I plan to make some artworks this weekend, I hope it goes well
I hope you enjoy your creative art-weekend. I'm sure you'll do a post about it so maybe I will see it. Thanks for your reply.
Are you actually supposed to catch fish when fishing? When I've been out with my uncles we've actually been hunting (so catching fish is required because it's dinner, though there are shops back home so there's backup if fishing fails XD) but seems that whenever J goes fishing with his friends they're kind of trying to catch stuff but mostly just hanging out XD
Glad it brought a smile, if nothing else you can just chat while throwing lures into the water and pulling them back in again and then go get fish and chips after ;D
We had our long weekend last week I think.
That's perfectly normal, and you're allowed to feel that way (there might be other probems if you don't XD). You're also absolutely allowed to do things to make you smile and destress like choose not to deal with some things where you can avoid it and go fishing :)
Campsites still haven't opened up yet?
We've had a pretty chill weekend so far. Phase 3 as of today so JJ and youngest went to a skate park as they've finally reopened, brought lunch back and then J went off to play Magic with his mates, youngest played outside with water balloons and mud for hours (he just came back in for a shower), eldest has been helping me with chores (a pleasant surprise as he just started doing it, the only thing I actually told him to do was put his sheets in the wash) and is now gaming online with his friends, and I've been bouncing like a rubber ball between making all the comments, data entry stuff (21 pages to go!) and sculpting, so pretty usual for me, but it makes me happy XD
I've caught a few fish in my day, but am not overly keen on the past time. I prefer shooting as I think it is more human. This image was taken a while ago and just used for effect, but on that day I actually caught something so it wasn't a total loss...There was a lot of shit talking though, more of that than catching fish.
It sounds like you've had a reasonable day. Things are opening up a lot now so we'll be able to do more things I guess. Camp sites are open here, but we chose not to go because of my dad. We will make a trip soon, have a bit of a camp...Tonight it's camp fires in the back yard and burgers, a fairly legit alternative.
Surprise, surprise...You're on your rig working. I would have been more surprised if you were not! LOL.
Have a good Saturday night and Sunday too!
How else am I gonna get this anim done otherwise XD
assuming I ever get it done x_x
This is you. Don't you even deny it!
I am totally denying it. This is me.
And this is me when someone interrupts me when I'm zoned XD
Lol...I wish my life was so easy to draw! It probably is though I guess, if someone with skills is doing the drawing.
A nice, relaxing, and calming weekend for you, eh? Everyone needs a break every now and then, just a moment to pause time in front of you. But unlike you, I'm a fantastic fisherman! In less than 5 minutes, I can have one bagged and sent to the cashier. See, supermarkets aren't that hard to work, are they 😆? No need for silly poles, or dealing with fish that are alive.
Best wishes mate, and happy weekend. Though at this point, you're probably enjoying a good Sunday.
Still Saturday night here, 10pm. We're only an hour and a half in front of KL.
Just came in from our fire pit, cleaned up the dinner stuff and had a shower. Just kicking back watching a doco on D-Day. Been a nice relaxing night.
Hope you have a good weekend.
You too, mate. I think I'll have some World War II stuff on the docket for this weekend as well :-)
Till the flood of goofy duck face selfies gets here, I will have to post a few krazzy customized selfies of You to hold me over.
Please hurry tho, I need some new material... Lmao!
I had some great memory of fishing! In my childhood, I used to go with my brother for fishing. There is a big pond very near to our house. But when I grew up, I started fishing with my friend. That time I didn't have any fishing pole or wheel that time. So, I made some hand made fishing tools using bottles, nylon and fish hooks. For a fishing rod, I used a bamboo cane. And went to the pond and started fishing. My first fish was a big carp fish. I was thrilled and very excited when I caught that fish. That day I caught 15 fishes most of them were carp fish, and all of them were around 3 pounds. That was my first fishing experience.
Wow, home made equipment and such a decent haul of fish! Impressive. I bet you had some fun and that's the main thing right? Have you managed to pick up some equipment now, or do you still use the cane pole you made?
Yeah, I have some equipment now. And catch some big fish every time I go fishing. But I really miss those days, because all those equipment was made by me and I had a lot of memories with that cane pole. Once I was fishing with that cane pole suddenly I pulled something, oh my god it was a baby tortoise. And I rescued him very carefully from the hook. And I looked at the baby tortoise, it was looking so cute. I took it to my home and started taking care of him. And make a small tortoise house for him. And it becomes one of my best friends. Whenever I went to the tortoise, it started to play with me. Life was going so fast. 5 months later, it became young. I was very happy with him. But after a few weeks I lost him. I didn't know what happened to him, but I was terribly upset. I really loved him.
Isn't it funny how it's often the simple things in life that can have the greatest value to us. Many people would do well to remember that I think. Thanks for sharing your stories and memories. I really appreciate it.
Amazing what a bit of fishing and a calm ocean does to a person see it put a smile on your face one step at a time and you will achieve your needs and take care of the important ones.
Long weekend for me was great lots of BBQ's and beers with friends saw my weekend cruise by just fine 😊 🍺 👍
It sounds like you have a decent long weekend...Sounds pretty legit actually.
