The Krampus score is one good indication of an account but I think we need to take a holistic and balanced view if we were really serious about curating good accounts. I know some are doing that already

Right, no bad authors only bad curators.
Still, some indication for curators that was generally available would help those that don't take the time to vet their votes.
Warning! This account is on the krampus list!
It would give the authors a chance to better fit their contribution to the norms of the community.
Even something like spaminator would help.
The hive would look very different if 4 years ago we had set some hp retention standards for curation.
Instead so much was voted to authors that dumped it like it was hot that 'the whales' started crying about its impact on the price.
We have only ourselves to take this responsibility up.
Not many of us play this game only so we can watch the dumpers keep the price in the basement.
Yet, dumpers still get curation.
I'm shocked at the number of 70+rep accounts with less than 1000hp.
The poors couldn't vote that to them, even with years to try.
I'm not asking that 100% be retained, but some minimums need to be established community wide, imo.
Like many new communities or even newly established countries, I think in the earlier years things are a little wild west, Steem was certainly like that where bidbots and selfvote were the norm. As time passes and the community matures, our standard and community norms evolves, what's acceptable last year may not be today.
You just have to be around to feel the tide turn and catch it
