84 is good innings, as they say, and Alzheimer's is very difficult. None of these facts truly make things easier. He sounds like someone worth carrying with you. How lucky you are, to have his legacy of stories, art, enthusiasm and love to carry in your own life, and Taraz too. Thanks Riv, you're right. He was happy with his life and he believed the next place would be better. He is with my mum now and we will remember them both fondly. It's sometimes odd to think I'm parentless, but they live within me.
