In fact, I also feel there must be some translation scam going on. I figured this when I received translation requests from random people. This is an assumption but maybe people take "English" content and then translate using Google Translate. And then:
Copy. Paste. And publish.
I am thinking to tackle this by having dedicated translators (who add me as beneficiaries) if that makes any sense. Not sure if it is the right thing to do. Been thinking about it since one week. Any thoughts on this?

I might have mentioned this somewhere before, but I used to write newbie help articles like you, but yours are better presented than mine. It was a translation scam, the @curie guys are well seasoned it picking up on stuff like this if they are pointed out.
