Optimal use of time to improve our preformance

in Project HOPE4 years ago

I recently read a post by my friend @unbiasedwriter that he has entitled Give up on something to go higher!, in which at some point in his post he leaves the following sentence:

I have to reduce something in order to grow into something new!

I said to myself, why would I have to give up something to be able to move on to something else, and although the simple answer would be, because I have to dedicate more time to that other thing I want to develop, it really led me to a reflection in terms of optimizing time, prioritizing activities based on what we need most at that particular moment in our lives.

I am particularly always doing many things, apart from my usual work, I spend hours on internet activities, the activity in my blog is intense, I practically do not stop publishing any day, I rarely stop answering any comment, and we all know that this requires time. But apart from that I'm learning trading, something that I like, but I had to stop, I felt bad about it, because I want to learn it well, but there are other things I have to do and to which I have had to devote more time, and set aside for a few days what is learning trading.

But, organizing time is more than vital in our lives, because otherwise we can end up truly exhausted and underperforming. Knowing what we want is an important and necessary point to establish priorities and obviously, know what is essential. We can't cover as much as we want, for that reason I agree when @unbiasedwriter says "I have to reduce something in order to grow in something new ", it's logical, we only have 24 hours in our days, and every hour counts, we can't put aside rest, this is a call of attention that I make to myself, because in case I'm not enough to sleep, and sometimes I need it and yet I don't do it.

I've learned a lot this year, not only because we've been in difficult times, or maybe I have, but I'm looking for some options to generate passive income, and I've achieved some things, that's something important, because I can dedicate more time to things I like while I don't have to worry about basic expenses. But, yes, I've had to give up some things to be able to develop in others...

And to you something similar has happened?

I'd like to read them in the comments

Great article, and interesting read! I know the feeling that you only have 24 hours per day, and you need to use it at your best. I am really interested in trading as well, but I gave up on learn everything about TA and more a while back. There is so much I would like to learn, but cannot catch it all...

And i guess the principle of 80/20 is useful when it comes to time management. Spend 80% of your time on the top 20% of your income, and spend the last 20% of your time on the remaining 80%. You need to max out what gives you the most, at least in terms of a financial perspective.

No matter what, time is a constant battle, and we need to make the most out of it!

The principle of 80/20
I hadn't heard it as such, but it sounds interesting as well as logical.
It's a good way to get organized.
We must win the battle of time, or at least give it a try.

After this lockdown and stuff, I gave up something I was doing like updating a sports site, to learn about cryptos and write.

It's been good... you need to make a list of what all you what to do, reveiw it.Maybe have your mind think to find time and ways to do it. It helps...

Past few years, I travelled solo and enjoyed, wrote on it and its been loved in platform. I gave up on milk, although sometimes have it if its gotto be wasted...

its also a matter of making space for something. This year before the pandemic, one ofthe drama artist, asked me to try acting, just to spread awareness on environment and real things. At that time I said I have no time sir, I read about economy and crypto.

He said, all your life you want to be serious or also mix lightness in it. I seriously had no time, or money or age (almost 36) to do drama acting. Then pandemic came, I decided to leave the sports page update task and do writing and cryptos full time.

I also made up my time to do acting if that oppurtunity comes again, lot of reasons... its about making space. Although I am perfectly happy just reading news, writing, walking, being with cats and getting into activism, community building and such things...ofcourse can't live without exercise!!!

Right now, I am not reading crypto, to read some articles, else I will be studying graphs and reading news. Will do that another day.

Another thing in making productive use of your time, is it prevents you from becoming lazy, although weekends I don't mostly read or write on crypto..sunday complete break and rest, so other stuff.

Actually gives you energy to work next day.

Thanks for the comment @mintymile
So doing theater, that's a good experience, that enriches, I know because I did theater for 15 years. It is rewarding.

Organizing time is more than necessary, to be able to perform in so many things that one wants to do.
Studying about cryptomonics, graphics, etc. takes time, but it brings its own rewards.

You are right, it is a matter of taking time, organizing it, it is necessary.
And rest, another thing I usually leave aside, and I shouldn't.

Nice post @josevas217

Time is essential , it doesnt matter the time used in something what matters is what we do in the time

Good point, what is done in time is the important thing, really.
Thanks for your comment.

You are welcome 🤝

Hello friend @josevas217 many times we must sacrifice some things or goals for others but I think the important thing is to keep the focus. Great publication.

Keep the focus, that is, because otherwise we end up lost, in limbo.

Greetings friend @josevas217, I also had the opportunity to read the article by @imparcialwriter, excellent by the way. Whenever I see a publication with that topic, I read it right away, because I have many things to do and I am always looking for some tips to put them into practice.

Thanks for sharing, your point of view is very valuable, see you later, have a great week 👍

Yes, actually it was a great post that the friend wrote @amestyj
So simple and so profound at the same time.
We are all doing many things, and we want to do many more. It's a big problem, if we don't get organized.
Thank you for commenting.

Many times we have to sacrifice many things to get the result of others, but what we should never give up is our goal to always keep our focus. Greetings friend @josevas217

Yes, I agree, we want to do many things. But the basic thing is that there is something that guides us, that is our main search, so that each of the steps we take leads us to it.

@josevas217 a maximum performance, deserves an unsurpassed personal planning. I agree with your proposals, I tell you, in my case I have the habit of writing down in all the ideas that are presented throughout the day, and annexed to my agenda where I am executing to the letter each of the activities that I intend to develop, and undoubtedly, this habit I am very positive in optimizing my time, of course many opportunities can not meet some guidelines, and I choose to prioritize activities
