We each have to find what motivates and inspires us. Mine tends to come from parkrun. Even though it's not supposed to be a competition I do compare myself against others as well as my past self. There's some older folk who are so quick. Mind you, I'm nearly 60! My heart was up over 160 for the whole 5km and I hope it can cope with that.

wow, over 160 the entire time! That's super impressive to me that you were able to maintain that comfortably. A lot of times I look at my heart rate and get a bit freaked out but I really do believe that a lot of this being a mind game thing is true. 160 isn't dangerous or anything as far as I know.
