I started out making a 2D platformer for a college project, and I gotta confess, I'm a noob at game development. It's been more than a year since I last opened Unity and I had learn everything again.
The class this project is made for it's designed to go fast paced through every game genre, releasing a new project every two weeks. a project that I can barely keep up with.
Now I know that it's not that hard to make a small project in two weeks, any person interested in game dev could do it, but I have a 9am to 6pm job and this class is 1 out of 5 that also have courses and labs. Why am I saying all this instead of talking about the project, are you wondering, it's just an explanation why I'm using Store assets instead of making my own. I don't have enough time, because I would love to do it.
Now, about the actual project.
It's not finished. But, it has some interesting features.
- The background, which I actually did it myself, it's composed of multiple layers that are moving separately with the player movement, and are generated again if the level is longer than the length of the files
- The follow animations are pretty accurate, but could get a few tweaks here and there.
- The environment is a tilebase rulled because I want to create random generating environment script.
There's still a lot of room for improvement, but fortunatelly, there's nobody that will criticize my work more than me. Fortunatelly for me, this project is just for learning, so, I will actually give up on it after it's ready for grading. The best part about it, I'm learing, which is great considering my final project for this diploma, which will actually will be on Steam or Epic Games somewhere around 2 years from now.

You did a very good job. I have huge respect for people that works with 2d because Sprite animations is my weak point lol...
Thanks! I'm looking to improve in the future, because even if I tried my best here, there are still some details that I've missed. I'm looking forward to trying some 3D animations, as I've done something before in Blender, but I didn't import into a game engine.
Good job, this project already demonstrates your knowledge of the basics of Animator, colliders, parallax, inputs and the beginning of a state machine. I don't know what to plan in life, but these are small projects that give you the technical ability to specialize in game development. Keep it up and post more about your progress for us!
Are you using the new input system or the old input system?

Thanks a lot, I am considering a game dev career, even through now I'm sort of a DevOps/Full stack dev.
I'm using the old system, I haven't known about a new system, but you really got my interest, this thing looks amazing, I will try it in my next projects.
