It was another sunny day as we visited Wollaton Hall in the neighbouring county of Nottinghamshire, UK. It was built between 1580 and 1588 for Sir Francis Willoughby and designed by the Elizabethan architect, Robert Smythson. It is a Grade I listed Elizabethan mansion. Source
You can actually hire it for your wedding day.
The Hall is set in 500 acres of parkland. It was an enjoyable experience having a wander around the park and lake. And when the sun is shining, it only adds to the charm of the place.
Back in 2012, Wollaton Hall was chosen by Warner Bros as the set of Wayne Manor in the Batman film, 'The Dark Knight Rises'.
In a walled garden within the park, Camellia House is an early example of a Georgian cast and wrought iron glass house. Source
The Sensory Garden was created in 1994, designed to provide a unique experience for visitors.
It is a place where visitors can engage with nature using all of their senses. You are encouraged to touch and smell the flowers and plants.
It was an enjoyable visit, especially when it is free to get in, which is very rare these days. You just pay £6 for car parking fees.
