Going back is a a word that usually causes us pain and makes us very sad, after all, we live our lives always wanting to evolve, improve, and when we find ourselves in a complicated situation that forces us to go back, this feeling is difficult to accept and makes us rethink where we might have gone wrong, or what decision was wrong and that led me to this. In my case, I spent 2024 basically stable, but that doesn't mean that everything was fine. Financially, it wasn't the best of years, after all, I spent a lot on some decisions that I think were wrong.
Now that I've been through this moment, I can say that my wrong decision was to leave my children in a private school, where their monthly fees were more than R$1,000.00 ($165.15). Okay, education is priceless, but the amount we pay does affect us and can complicate everything, and that's how 2024 was, dragging on more than anything, suffering and struggling to pay for this school, my 2-bedroom apartment and many other things, with a salary that is the same as it was 5 years ago, that is, my last raise was in 2019 and since then Brazil has become much more complicated to live in.
An unmissable opportunity came up to buy a three-bedroom apartment and, for better or worse, I was crazy enough to accept the offer. So, I'm selling my two-bedroom apartment and I'm going to buy this three-bedroom one. But nothing is easy and sometimes I wonder if I did the right thing, because I'll have to sacrifice a lot of things, including the quality education of my children. So, going back here is that I'll have to take them out of private school and put them in public schools. Davi will go to a state school and Sofia (perhaps the most affected) to a municipal school. I'll have to do this if I want to save money and pay for this apartment.
I think I made a good deal. After all, a three-bedroom apartment is better. Each child will have their own room, their own privacy, and their own space. It's also a good asset for the future. Although I feel bad about doing this to them, here in Brazil, private school education is usually better than public school. Not that a public school can't be good, but the track record never seems to be the best. Regressing isn't easy, and it breaks my heart to do this to my children. But sometimes you have to make a sacrifice. You have to lose something to gain something, and that's the path I'm taking.

Agora que passei por esse momento, posso dizer que a minha decisão errada foi deixar meus filhos em uma escola particular, na qual a mensalidade deles estava dando mais de R$ 1.000,00 ($165,15). Tudo bem, educação não tem preço, mas o valor que pagamos nos afeta sim e pode complicar tudo e assim foi o 2024, arrastado mais que tudo, sofrendo e passando mal para pagar essa escola, meu apartamento de 2 quartos e muitas outras coisas, com um salário que está o mesmo de 5 anos atrás, ou seja, o meu último aumento foi em 2019 e de lá para cá o Brasil se tornou muito mais complicado de se viver.
Apareceu uma oportunidade imperdível de comprar um apartamento de três quartos e, bom ou mal, fiz a loucura de aceitar a proposta. Então, estou vendendo o meu de dois quartos e comprarei este de três. Mas, nada é fácil e às vezes penso se fiz o correto, pois terei que sacrificar muita coisa, inclusive a educação de qualidade dos meus filhos. Então, retroceder aqui, é que terei que retirá-los da escola particular e colocá-los em escolas públicas. O Davi vai para uma estadual e a Sofia (talvez a mais afetada) para uma municipal. Terei que fazer isso se quiser economizar e pagar este apartamento.
Acho que fiz um bom negócio, afinal, um apartamento de três quartos é melhor, cada filho terá o seu quarto, sua privacidade, o seu canto, além de que é um bom patrimônio para o futuro, apesar de que me sinto mal por fazer isso com eles, aqui no Brasil, a educação de escola particular costuma ser melhor do que a pública, não que uma escola pública não possa ser boa, mas o histórico parece nunca ser o dos melhores. Regredir não é fácil e fico com o coração na mão de fazer isso com meus filhos, mas às vezes é preciso um sacrifício, é preciso perder algo para ganhar algo e é por este caminho que estou indo.
