I've had enough of long hair.
And she is my hairdresser. Wait let me share one more picture.
Well, this process was not over. But that's not what I'm here to talk about, it's about a ride my Bianchi and I enjoyed to the Havana neighbourhood of Vedado with the aim of visiting this beauty salon. Approximately 22 km round trip.
Route
😁
I've been a bit dumbfounded by this photo she took of me to show me my grey hair.
No worries, I like them, and riding my road bike makes me look younger.
When I left the hairdresser's I walked a bit through these cobbled streets.
It was exactly here, at H Street and 15th Street. This is the view towards 23rd Street.
I went to the opposite side looking for Línea street and from there I took a few photos so that you could see what beautiful houses and the landscape of this beautiful area of Vedado.
There I left the green car behind... those kids coming back from school were running very happy and I took the picture.
These houses are in H before reaching Linea Street. It is nice to walk around and admire these beauties of our eclectic architectural heritage.
When I got to Línea Street I still didn't get on my bike to take a few photos.
Someone wrote on the sign, ‘more of the same’. Who knows what he/she was thinking, if was complaining, if was longing for a change in some specific situation he/she was going through... Like me. There are things I wish were different, but they are not, and I have no choice but to accept and keep in silence.
More houses...
I walked to I Street (the next block) to photograph the Beth Shalom Synagogue. This building has always attracted my attention.
Back on Línea Street, I had to cross the street to start my way back home.
I cycled to the Trianon theatre, which is just before Paseo Avenue. There I spent a few minutes in the café next door, sitting at one of the tables, watching the people passing by and drinking something I like very much. I also chatted with a stranger who was drinking beer. Not because I was looking for a chat, but because an incident happened there that triggered it. He confessed to me that he was feeling a bit disoriented, not because of his drinking, but because he wasn't making sense of his life.
It seems that he is waiting for papers to move to Spain. By the way, I am glad to know that my friends there are all well. I saw hard images of what the DANA caused. 😥
When I looked above the door of the cafeteria I saw this detail and here I share it with you.
I drove down Paseo to 7th Street and went to 12th and up to 23rd Street.
The traffic light at 9th and 12th was not working and this policewoman was doing her job very well, which kept us waiting for a few minutes that were a long, long time.
The next stop was over the Almendares river bridge, but the photo I took of the river didn't look good, so I owe it to you.
In front of the Marianao Library I found this shoe.
And this hammer on the globe. I can't tell you who the author of these works is. Everything went quickly, in fact I always pass there by car or bus. Lately I've been cycling more, and it's very easy to get off the bike and go there, so I'll find out at some point. Forgive my ignorance.
This is what this corner looks like.
I crossed the street towards the castle, which always catches my eye, photographed it and took 100th Street, passing 51st Street, and headed for home. As you can see, the clouds announced that night would soon begin to fall.
I hope you have enjoyed this tour. I really enjoyed it and I really need to cycle. It rejuvenates me, I feel it's very liberating as well. Life throws a lot of challenges at us and sometimes you need to release those thoughts a little bit. My relationship with the bike and that adrenaline is not that it makes me forget things, but it relieves certain not so happy situations, waitings, and events that really won't come because I anxiously want them to come.
My imagination is proverbial, what I think may never even happen. So I refuse to be a sad cyclist, I refuse... let's keep showing the beautiful, the good and also what defines us. Places, events... life.
Thank you all for being here.

Thank you! 😇
I’m still amazed at how far you can go on your trips; it’s over 40 km in total, right? I admire you.
On another note, you were en mi Barrio ; there are several hidden gems in that area. In fact, I was surprised to see in the seventh and eighth photos the most intriguing house in the neighborhood, which could easily be the cover of a Halloween post 🎃.
Traveling with you is always a pleasure! The Bianchi is a gem ,btw 🚴🏻♂️
No, only about 22 km... it's not that much.
Thank you :)
Simplemente no me gustan. 😅
Good morning @nanixxx 🌻, I am so grateful to have us in your thoughts. And thank you for this ride.
I like to learn new things and I didn't know that being so young you could have grey hair. By the way, I really liked the picture of the two kids running around. It smells so much like freedom. That's my goal, to be able to live like a child, we'll see if one day I'll achieve it.
The picture of the sign, it says so many things to me.....
A very big hug.
I am sure you will succeed.
It is inevitable to get older, but we can't stop smiling inside and out. That will make us look younger.
I was doing a bit of street photography and I just arrived. Luckily as soon as I walked in the door, they put the power on. That means they took it off from 9am until 3pm. I got the Expo photos ready too. It was interesting. 🙂
But now I'm starving... so later I'll keep working on something and see if it comes out today or tomorrow. I don't know what it will be. I just hope you enjoy it too.
I'm sure I'll like what you publish. I'm very tired and I think I'll go to bed early today, so tomorrow I'll see what you upload.
Enjoy the evening, enjoy the electricity, big hug @nanixxx.
Get a good rest! May it be a restful and pleasant sleep.
🤗
👋🏼
👋
Some great shots, love the shoe and the hammer...and that new hair style looks pretty sassy
😄 Thank you... I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I really enjoy it when I cut my hair short.
Thats cool
What a great walk, I love houses in that style and you captured it so well! Great that shoe and hammer and capturing the beauty while cycling. I don't dye my hair, one day I'll be silver in my hair and I don't care at all, I love it!!!!
All good, light rain last night and all quiet around here.🤗
I only dyed a strand of my hair once. I will never dye my hair. Grey hair can have its charm.
;)
Glad you liked this bike ride.
My brother says that grey hair is personality hahaha I love mine, I want to be silver!
It was a great ride, thanks!
Nice ride. I like the metal sculptures!
How do you like your new bike so far?
I can tell you that the MTB is a war tank... if I finally keep it, I will try to change little by little what it has of iron for aluminium at least. And the fork maybe a stiff carbon fibre one. What happens is that all those parts are very expensive and there are other priorities.
The Bianchi is a silk. I loved it. 😂😍
If I've done 40 km on the MTB on this one I'll surely do 100 and in good shape.
Niiiiiiiiice, new hair to celebrate the new bike. Interesting to see the not-so-touristic side of Cuba.. everyone's always centered on the historical places
Hahaha...yes! Thank you.
You all have to see my new look already finished. Soon you will see it, maybe.... 😅🚲
My commitment is to show that Havana which is not very well known.
No quería distraerme demasiado.
Gracias @vezo. 😃 Sí, el cielo azulito y algunas nubecillas. No sentí tanto calor.
Thank goodness you didn't peel your hair like you told me, when I saw you I breathed. You look beautiful. The walk was very nice, Vedado is one of the most beautiful places in Havana. I love you very much.🥰🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️
Boba 😁
