Hello Hivians! How's your New Year celebration? I hope we all enjoyed our different ways of welcoming the new year 2025. Let me share with you today my visit to a computer technician and how it went. I hope you'll spend a little time reading it.
What I discovered yesterday.
Yesterday, I asked my son to get my laptop because I needed to edit an important document for my wife. My old laptop was used by our working scholar, where the important document was saved. I was confident not to save another copy on my external drive since we seldom use that laptop. It's the second laptop that our working scholar used since the old laptop of my wife was no longer functioning and needs to be repaired. It has a damage before, because my son kicked it when he was still 4 years old until it stopped charging now.
When I used the laptop, I was able to edit the said document. But when I was saving the file, it shut down. I thought the battery got drained, so I charged it. I turned it on, but to my surprise, it shut down again. I keep turning it on, but it does not work anymore. I told my wife about what I discovered, and we thought about what we should do about it.
What did we do?
I contacted a technician, and he replied to let me bring the said laptop to his repair shop located in front of their house. When we arrived there, he asked what's the problem with my laptop. I said to him what happened, and he checked it. He then told me that I needed to replace the SSD and he explained everything. I waited for the approval of my wife if we'd proceed to fix my laptop. She agreed to it, and we left it to the technician, and hopefully I could claim it tomorrow.
What happened after our visit to the technician?
After our visit to the technician, we went directly to the market to buy our food for dinner. We also bought chorizo and tocino for our breakfast tomorrow. We did not waste any time, and we went back home. Upon arriving home, I looked for the other laptop and took a picture of it so that the technician could also check the price or the estimated amount for its repair. We wanted it to be repaired so that Michael Joseph can use it for his studies.
After a few minutes, the massage therapist we contacted yesterday came. My wife and I wanted to have a whole-body massage to relax. I had the massage first, and I asked my wife to let the kids eat first with Michael Joseph. It was so nice to have the massage. If only I could have it for a longer time until I sleep. I wanted to relax after I knew the amount to be paid on the laptop repair. 😅 After I finished, I had my dinner and played music with my newly made speaker baffles.
When my wife was finished with the body massage and her dinner, we prepared for our evening prayer and worship. We always ended our day with prayer as we gave thanks to the Lord for everything He had done for us.

The truth is that having a computer that works well makes the difference between a good and a bad mood when it comes to using it hahaha. It's good that you were able to check it and then get a good massage, to relax even more.

You are definitely right. 😅 It changed my mood when I found out the problem with my laptop. And it even became more so when I knew the price for the repair. Hahaha, well, it happened already, and we just need to face the consequences of having this technology.
