Holaa!! Hace unos días tuve la oportunidad de asistir a un evento fascinante sobre ética e inteligencia artificial (IA) en el emblemático Hotel Parque Central de La Habana. Fue una experiencia muy buena que quisiera repetir.
Me acompañó un amigo mío del aula de Periodismo. Nos enteramos del evento gracias a nuestro profesor de Ética y bueno nos interesamos por el tema.
Aunque el evento empezaba a las 9am, nosotros llegamos al hotel desde las 8 más o menos. Así que para hacer tiempo nos tomamos un café con leche cada uno.
Algo muy interesante y que no sabía es que el hotel está dividido en 2 edificios, los cuales se comunican por un túnel subterráneo.
Pasamos por dicho túnel para llegar a la otra parte del hotel, donde estaba la sala del evento.
En cuanto nos sentamos vimos a 2 compañeros más de nuestra escuela y nos sentimos mucho más cómodos.
Las charlas abarcaron desde el uso responsable de la IA hasta sus implicaciones en la privacidad, el empleo y la toma de decisiones.
A la hora y media de conferencia hubo un receso para merendar. Nos brindaron unos dulces de buffet y café. 10/10
Luego siguió la sesión con un taller bastante interactivo. Me encantó porque teníamos que buscarle errores o deficiencias a distintas inteligencias artificiales, así como analizar sesgos étnicos, de géneros, etc., a la vez que tuvimos que buscar soluciones.
Nos dividimos en equipos para eso y al final uno de cada equipo expuso sus resultados. Como yo era la comunicadra del equipo no tuve más remedio que hacerlo yo jaja.
Cuando terminamos esa actividad, nos tiramos una foto grupal y nos llevaron a la mesa buffet para el almuerzo. De entrante nos dieron ensalada de vegetales.
De bebida pedí una piña colada sin alcohol que estaba superrica
Y de postre nos dieron flan
La sesión de la tarde fue breve. Cuando terminó nos volvieron a dar merienda y luego tuve que salir corriendo para llegar a tiempo a mis clases de francés.
Gracias al evento pude conocer a personas increíbles que se desenvuelven en los ambitos de las ciencias de la computación, de la comunicación, etc.

*A few days ago, I had the opportunity to attend a fascinating event on ethics and artificial intelligence (AI) at the iconic Hotel Parque Central in Havana. It was a great experience that I would love to repeat.
I was accompanied by a friend from my Journalism class. We found out about the event thanks to our Ethics professor, and well, we became interested in the topic.
Although the event started at 9 a.m., we arrived at the hotel around 8. To pass the time, we each had coffee with milk.
Something very interesting that I didn’t know is that the hotel is divided into two buildings, which are connected by an underground tunnel.
We walked through that tunnel to reach the other part of the hotel, where the event room was located.
As soon as we sat down, we saw two more classmates from our school, and we felt much more comfortable.
The talks covered everything from the responsible use of AI to its implications on privacy, employment, and decision-making.
After an hour and a half of presentations, there was a break for snacks. They offered us a buffet of sweets and coffee. 10/10!
Then the session continued with a very interactive workshop. I loved it because we had to identify errors or shortcomings in different artificial intelligences, as well as analyze ethnic, gender biases, etc., while also proposing solutions. We divided into teams for this, and at the end, one person from each team presented their results.
When we finished that activity, we took a group photo and were led to the buffet table for lunch. For the starter, we were served a vegetable salad.
For the drink, I ordered a non-alcoholic piña colada, which was super tasty.
And for dessert, we had flan.
The afternoon session was brief. When it ended, they offered us snacks again, and then I had to rush off to make it on time to my French class.
Thanks to the event, I got to meet amazing people who work in fields like computer science, communication, and more.

Muy interesante este evento; la inteligencia artificial nos está poniendo a prueba y debemos estudiar y estar a tono con ella.
Me encanta eso de IA. Quien le iba a decidir a Pitágoras o Arquímedes que la ciencia iba a tener tal desarrollo. Me gustó mucho tu posp. Espero que el próximo también lo sea
