Celebrating My 19th Birthday and Other Birthdays.jpg

Did you know who's already in his sweet 19? None other than me! Hello guys, if you read this on September 25, today is my birthday. During my childhood, I always anticipated this celebration. I assumed you were valuable if it was your birthday, but not until I turned older. Maybe those stories I've heard from my elders are correct that our happiness decreases as we age. However, I could still make this birthday memorable, and you'll know about it once you finish the whole blog.

Last September 19, my aunt invited us to join her for her 50th birthday. I love their lumpia and spaghetti, but I don't know why I suddenly lost my appetite when I already ate a lot. Just think about the Law of Demand from that situation, though. After my aunt's birthday, my friends and I started to treat ourselves in Jollibee since we survived one of the most challenging moments as college students. And last September 21 was my sibling's birthday, and I consumed a lot of rice since our viand was fried chicken with hot gravy. Then, two days ago, I was surprised when my mom told me we'd be celebrating our birthday.

After I woke up, I was astonished when I saw my mother busy frying her prepared Shanghai for our birthday celebration. That celebration was belated for my sibling's side while advancing on my side. To clarify the possible questions, though. She also cooked biko with chocolate flavor and baked mac and cheese (but not baked) while my younger brother was busy making the sauce for his lumpia. Meanwhile, my task for that day is to help accommodate the chairs and tables and care for my naughty sibling. However, while my mother was cooking spaghetti, she realized we had run out of gas. Therefore, we got delayed, but it was not a distraction since my mother also went to the market to buy our number-themed balloons.

Of course, after the long preparation and wait for our expected visitors, it was time for my mother to take many photos. It's not new, as my mother is such a fan of taking Reels and dreams of making money out of it. My father was not included in this photo since he was in Manila to work. Although I'm almost sick with her order to join on her trip to take all of the under-the-sun moments, I don't care much. The most important highlight for this day is the eating portion.

We prepared only simple foods for that special day, unlike my middle-ranged relatives. We have lumpia, spaghetti with lots of cheese, lechong manok, chocolate-flavored biko, baked mac and cheese, rice, soft drinks, and ice cream. I wonder why my mom didn't prepare a homemade dessert since her recipe is cheaper than buying a gallon of ice cream. Maybe she just ran out of time. I was so happy despite urging my mom not to prepare food for them since my aunts gave me P600.00 and my dad gave me P500.00 as a birthday present.

After that memorable day, I screamed when my uncle gave me P500.00, totaling P1,600.00 or $28.15. Since I'm avoiding letting it evaporate in one sitting, I decided to save the others in my savings account for my dream Redmi Pad/iPad and the other for Personal Collection. The same day was also when my aunt celebrated her 46th birthday. She prepared many foods like Adobo, BBQ, Squidball, Spaghetti, Pancit, and sodas; I already felt filled.

Now that it's my birthday, we didn't prepare food like we did two days ago. Can I rest my body from overeating? We only ate our leftovers, like my aunt's leftover cake, reheated the frozen lechong manok, and finished the remaining ice cream in one sitting. Despite a simple celebration, I made it memorable by waiting until 12 strikes to tell myself I'm already 19 by posting a photo of me holding the 19 balloons in my Facebook and Instagram story. I also created a list of simple wishes in my Notes, listing all my goals and self-reflections. I'm so happy they spent time greeting me with a happy birthday. A well-spent day, indeed!
