Although the trip with friends to the islands of Tigre was intended to be a few days of rest, my restless self can never rest that much. Well, a while of staying in front of the river contemplating the scenery is fine, but after a while I need to be on the move. It took us about two hours by boat to get to the house we rented, and you would think there wouldn't be much to walk around, but luckily we found a small trail to explore a bit. And after a few steps, we noticed that we couldn't forget the insect repellent 😅.
A pesar de que el viaje con amigas a las islas de Tigre estaba pensado como unos días de descansos, mi yo inquieto nunca puede descansar tanto. Bueno, un rato de quedarse frente al río contemplando el paisaje está bien, pero después de un momento ya necesito estar en movimiento. Llegar hasta la casa que alquilamos nos tomó unas dos horas en lancha, y uno podría llegar a pensar que no habría mucho para caminar por ahí, pero por suerte encontramos un pequeño sendero para explorar un poco. Y después de hacer unos pocos pasos, notamos que no podíamos olvidarnos el repelente de insectos 😅.
The Tigre Delta area in the north of the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, is one of the closest and most used green spaces to spend a weekend among nature. If your idea is to make a getaway to disconnect from the routine, this can be a good place. Currently, the islands have a wide range of accommodations according to your tastes and budget. There are even places where you can spend the day and get there in a boat that works as public transportation, so in the end it does not end up being so expensive 😃.
La zona del Delta de Tigre en el norte de la ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina, es uno de los espacios verdes más cercanos y más utilizados para pasar un fin de semana entre la naturaleza. Si tu idea es hacer una escapada de desconexión de la rutina, este puede ser un buen lugar. Actualmente, las islas cuentan con bastante oferta de alojamientos de acuerdo a tus gustos y presupuesto. Incluso hay lugares en los que se puede pasar el día y llegar ahi en una lancha que funciona como transporte público, así que a fin de cuentas tampoco termina siendo tan costoso 😃.
To celebrate my sister's birthday, my friends and I rented a house for the weekend. Now that we all work and have enough money, we like to do this kind of outing from time to time. The house we chose was beautiful, in an area of the island that looked surrounded by other nice houses as well. It was the perfect place to rest because it was quiet and peaceful, but I also wanted to go for a walk. Leaving the boundaries of the property we were on, we were able to find a path that bordered the river, ideal for a short walk and, by the way, to see the houses of the neighbors 😃.
Para celebrar el cumpleaños de mi hermana, mis amigas y yo alquilamos una casa para pasar el fin de semana. Ahora que todas trabajamos y tenemos dinero suficiente, nos gusta hacer este tipo de paseos cada tanto. La casa que elegimos era hermosa, en una zona de la isla que se veía rodeada de otras casas lindas también. Era el lugar perfecto para descansar porque reinaba el silencio y la tranquilidad, pero yo también quería salir a caminar un poco. Saliendo de los límites de la propiedad en la que estábamos, pudimos encontrar un sendero que bordeaba el río, ideal para dar un pequeño paseo y de paso, ver las casas de los vecinos 😃.
While there are people who live permanently on the island, most of these properties are vacation homes. Each has its own small dock for access by public boat or private boats, and a large green space to continue preserving the surrounding nature. Throughout our stay, we met almost no one, so we had the whole place to ourselves. As for the rental prices, I don't know how much the other houses are valued at, but at the time we had to pay about $50 per day for rent, which divided among 6 people is really not much ❤️.
Si bien hay gente que vive permanentemente en la isla, la mayoría de estas propiedades son casas de vacaciones. Cada una tiene su pequeño muelle para acceder en la lancha pública o en lanchas particulares, y un gran espacio verde para seguir conservando la naturaleza que lo rodea. En toda nuestra estadía, no nos cruzamos con casi nadie, así que tuvimos todo el lugar para nosotras. En cuanto a los precios de alquiler, no sé en cuánto estarán valuadas las otras casas, pero en su momento tuvimos que pagar unos $50 por día de alquiler, que repartido entre 6 personas no es mucho en verdad ❤️.
As luxurious as these houses looked, one thing that caught my attention was that none of them had a swimming pool. I know there are other larger and more luxurious complexes that have them, but apparently the ordinary houses do not. This may have something to do with the fact that the water on the island is not drinkable, so it is necessary to drink bottled water. And if you are wondering how the islanders acquire supplies, well, there is also the "market boat", which passes by regularly offering drinks, food and hygiene products 😅.
A pesar de lo lujosas que se podían ver estas casas, algo que me llamó la atención es que ninguna de ellas tenía pileta. Sé que hay otros complejos más grandes y lujosos que las tienen, pero aparentemente las casas ordinarias no. Esto quizás tenga que ver con que el agua en la isla no es potable, por lo que es necesario consumir agua envasada obligatoriamente. Y si se preguntan como hacen los isleños para adquirir provisiones, bueno, también existe la "lancha mercado", que pasa regularmente ofreciendo bebidas, alimentos y productos de higiene 😅.
Our walk was proving to be quite interesting and entertaining, had it not been for the mosquitoes stalking us all the time. Being surrounded by such a green and natural environment had this consequence, but nothing that a lot of repellent couldn't solve. While all the houses we saw were empty, most of them looked well kept, except for one. This house immediately caught our attention because to access it we had to cross a whole path covered with vegetation and even it was completely covered. We wondered if the owners have not been around for a while, if it was abandoned, or perhaps for sale. It would have been interesting to go inside, but we had seen too many horror movies to know that it was not a good idea 😅.
Nuestro paseo estaba siendo bastante interesante y entretenido, si no hubiese sido por los mosquitos acechándonos todo el tiempo. Estar rodeado de un ambiente tan verde y natural tenía esta consecuencia, pero nada que un montón de repelente no puediera solucionar. Si bien todas las casas que vimos estaban vacías, la mayoría se veía bien cuidadada, salvo una. Esta casa inmediatamente llamó nuestra atención porque para acceder a ella había que atravesar todo un sendero tapado de vegetación e incluso ella estaba totalmente cubierta. Nos preguntamos si los dueños no vendrán hace rato, si está abandonada, o quizás en venta. Hubiese sido interesante poder entrar, pero vimos muchas películas de terror como para saber que no era buena idea 😅.
I enjoyed this walk around the river and the houses of Tigre. It may not have been a trail of miles and miles like the ones I am used to, but it was enough to satisfy my desire to move around a bit. Being with the girls also made everything more entertaining, because you know how it is when you have a good time with your best friends. I would definitely repeat a weekend like this one, of course without forgetting to bring plenty of repellent 😅.
Me gustó haber hecho este paseíto por los alrededores del río y las casas de Tigre. No habrá sido un sendero de kilómetros y kilómetros como los que acostumbro, pero fue suficiente como para satisfacer mis ganas de moverme un poco. El hecho de estar con las chicas también volvió todo más entretenido, porque ya saben cómo es cuando uno pasa un buen rato con sus mejores amigas. Sin dudas repetiría un fin de semana como este, por supuesto sin olvidar llevar bastante repelente 😅.

Hey, thanks for your comment :) As for the boat, it passes by about 4 times a day blowing a siren so if someone wants something, just signal them to come over. And horror movies, well better not to risk it 😂.

How great to have rented this house to enjoy the company of your friends, how great that they found those paths to walk and stretch their legs while getting to know the neighboring houses.
Yes, the delta is a good destination to get away from the city and spend a weekend surrounded by nature. When my children were little we visited the islands often. At some point my wife and I thought about buying a house there, but it didn't happen. .
What a shame to see that abandoned house, and yes, it looks a little scary.

El lugar se ve encantador. Me sorprendió el tema del agua potable, es algo duro de conseguir en lugares aislado; pero llama la atención lo de la lancha (el ingenio humano). Al comenzar a leer, pensé que se potabilizaría con algún tipo de proceso local, o artesanal.
Ésta parte me dio mucha risa, créeme que yo tampoco lo intentaría. Además, me dan miedo las películas de terror jajajaja. No es lo mío. Me gusta mucho la casa, pagarla entre seis personas es cómodo y más si compartes con amistades en un cumple.
¡Hola! No, el agua no es potable y esto se puede ver en todas las canillas de la casa. Principalmente lo notas en la descarga de los inodoros, cuando el agua que queda después de tirar la cadena es algo amarronado. Pero lo tienen bastante solucionado con el delivery de bidones.
Y con respecto a la casa, seguro habían algunos espíritus, pero más miedo me hubiese dado cruzarme con una araña 😂.
This is an amazing vacation house. Not bad for a $50 per day rental with 6 people. The place is so relaxing.
