Once again, today I spent some time at the crime scene. Palm trees, sea, promenade and of course, pebbles. Wait, I almost forgot to mention the sun, the much-needed sun to warm us and give us energy, and optimism. No wonder so many Dutch and Norwegian retirees have found their place right here, on the Mediterranean coast.
Many Spanish actors have also been given a place on this promenade - in the form of a star on the pavement. Every year, a film festival is held and the award-winning and most famous actors who participated have their names carved on this promenade. Those who can walk there probably feel privileged.
And what about those who decide to have lunch right there, with the stars?
With much more modest demands, I went down to the shore and set up the dining area of this stretch of beach. Sunbathing and having lunch - could I even ask for more? The menu was also peculiar. On Tuesday evening, I saw a post by @theworldaroundme. She made a cottage pie, and I loved the recipe and the idea of preparing by myself something similar the very next day.
Psst, you will see that my version was much more different 😂
I went on Wednesday morning to buy meat (in the end, I didn't buy minced meat but a piece of turkey breast that I ground myself at home) and vegetables so the fun could start. I spent way too much time in the kitchen as I was somehow slow and it was the first time I was preparing this dish. I didn't have all the ingredients so some I left out but added some other things that I had at home. For example, I also ground a piece of eggplant into the filling.
The mashed potato topping was also slightly different; it contained boiled carrots and a pinch of paprika - that is why the colour is more orange than yellow. I hope Mariah will not get a heart attack now, seeing that her recipe suffered so many changes and the final result doesn't even look like a pie. 😂
I can say in my defence that it was an exercise in improvisation and that in the end, it's the taste that matters, not the appearance and the way it's served. ...in a plastic container... 🤐
There on the beach, I thought about the reason why I still come to this area... I moved. Full stop. The most logical thing would be to stop coming here for work, but I still want to honour the place where I worked for many years until they find another teacher, but that's not so easy for them. Honestly, I'm also sorry to completely cut off all ties with all my students here, so for now it's the way it is - a transition that could last for a long time, at least throughout the entire school year. But I also want to find my place (professionally) in our new place, it would be good to focus more on that and have faith in myself.
On the other side, coming here is great as it also means finding pebbles for that activity I want to pick up again. Kindness rocks... So, I brought home some of these with the hopes they would not sleep in my backpack for weeks or months. I need to find inspiration again for my rocks.
A tiny yellow shoe?
How it ended up here a few steps away from the beach, I have no idea, but it was cute so the shoe wandered into this post. This is how I am now, a traveller, a walker in a tiny shoe through this life, as we all are. And if our paths crossed one day, what would we say to each other?
What a beautiful day you chose for a walk, spectacular sun and sea. The walk with those stars a detail to highlight but it would also be very nice at night with those colored lights, the sea breeze and the sound of the waves, unbeatable. See you again with your pebbles. A hug friend.🤗❤️
Or the day chose me :D
The thread of the colorful lights must be nice too, this time it was the sun that gave us the light and warmth ✨️
Gracias, un abrazo y buen fin de semana :)
I think there would be more to say than a big hug! Two things... walking shoes and stones!!! Yes, I love them! A relaxing moment on the beach is always welcome!😃
Walking shoes and maybe walking pebbles as well - they walked with me in my backpack haha :D
I hope you had a good day 🤗
Yes, I went to see the lights switch on show! It was great even though I was pushed a lot hahaha
Yeah, so it was today. I remembered the date, the 29th, but I was working and had no time to catch such an event. I am sure it was nice despite being pushed (it is because of many people?)
Creo el traductor no puso lo que quería... me empujaban, demasiada gente jaja y mientras filmaba .. fue terrible pero estuvo lindo!
sí, no te preocupes, así lo he entendido, que había mucha gente. :)
Mucha!🤣
Walking in there is a fun thing to do, if I ever I had the chance to walk on those stars at the ground I'll surely search the names carved in there. Lol. And I also read about that cottage pie, it looks really delicious, I even doubt myself that I cant make it. Lol. Your improved pie looks unique though, especially the color, well it has carrot so its to be expected. Can I have a plate of that please. Must be good to eat it in the shore where the wave of the sea can be heard and the cold fresh air can touch your face as you munch it ✨✨🤩
I used to read the names of the actors and inscriptions and imagined if they were present when a star with their name appeared. If I had one, I would definitely want to see when they place it 😁
The improvised pie was tasty :)
If we crossed paths one day, Buhito would ask you for food and probably piano lessons, I want him to play the violin, but he refuses 🦉
Did anyone see a little yellow shoe? 🦉
Piano lessons for the little owl - that would be sweet. Just let me know if Buhito will play with his wings or legs haha. Would Bizcochito come to the lessons too? 😁 I have scores for duets :)
Oh, so it was Buhito's shoe! That makes sense haha
Buhito I think he will play with his paws, because his wings don't move, he is a weird owl hahaha 😂 Bizcochito also wants to join in and do a duet with Buhito, what will come out of that? I'm scared 👀
Buhito always loses things haha 🦉
What will come out of that? Maybe something like this hahah
OMG! I have no doubt that it would be something like that hahaha 😂 and Bizcochito would be the Red one! 😂😂
Sin duda alguna! 😂
My dear friend, how nice it is to see you in that moment of relaxation in an environment that will always lend itself to reflecting and recharging your energies to the maximum. To remember is to live and now that you mention that you moved, one must always be thankful for one's roots and thank the place where beautiful stories began, especially in music, as is the case with you.
The food looks very delicious and I hope your friend doesn't have a heart attack hehehe 😅... the weather looks very cool in that coastal area, is the humidity low? because it doesn't seem that this variable influences that climate that feels pleasant and very nice... A big hug my friend 🌹💖... You Absolutely Rockkk!!!! 👍😎🔥📸🏖️☀️🌴❤️
We always have to be thankful and observe the positive side of things, creating our happy moments and converting them into continuity :)
The weather here is great. There is a kind of small microclimate, and the mountains around protect the area from cold weather and rain, while the sea gives mild temperatures during the winter. It was a very pleasant and enjoyable part of our lives living here during the past 12 years 😃
Thank you Don Fer, espero que estás bien, un gran abrazo!!
It's so nice to see someone enjoying a moment of peace with nature 😊
😇 it was nice, the blue colour of the sea is special

Thank you 🙏
It's good to see a beautiful place like this 🥰 It's calming and relaxing. 🤗 It seems that you really enjoyed the way with this paradise.
It is the best part of a day when between the lessons I can come here ;)
I wonder, how the extreme heat in the Middle East is so appropriate for the residents of the Scandinavian region. The seashore i really beautiful with clear water with pebbles shore and crystal blue sky adding a stunning view to the infinity. Cooking delicious foods needs patience and a lot of time which we don't have inthe modern lifestyle. But cooking is an art and I love it. Thanks for sharing your seashore experience.
Yes, I also wonder how it is to live in the extreme heat, and I am sure it is even more extreme for people from the Scandinavian region.

I love going by the sea because of how the water misbehaves this is a beautiful scene and the shoe said otherwise
