Today was my first eye day in two months. When I woke up in the morning, I forced myself to get up, had breakfast, and headed out. It was freezing cold outside and it was hard to wait for the bus. It was a little warmer when I got on the bus, but it took a long time and I got off the bus in a limp state.
After getting off and walking a bit, I arrived at Nishiki Market. I took the picture below, which is my first picture of Nishiki Market in a long time.
Walking further, I arrived at the ophthalmology department. There were many patients there, probably because it was Monday. Today I had an appointment for a visual field test at 9:30 a.m., so after a short wait, my name was called and I was led to the examination room.
First, I had my intraocular pressure and visual acuity tested, and then I went to another testing room for a visual field test. This was a very tough one, taking about 30 minutes. I had to hold my forehead and chin in place, look straight ahead, and press a button when I saw a light. It was especially hard at first because my eyes were tearing up. I was told that I could blink as many times as I wanted during the examination, but when my eyelids were held up with tape, I could not blink properly.
After taking more pictures of the fundus of my eye, I finally went to the doctor's office. I had to wait for about two people for the examination.
Then the doctor said, “Your intraocular pressure is a little high, so I'm going to change your medicine. I don't know how many times I have had to change my medication, but it was to change the medication I had been taking twice a day. But before that, he asked me, “Do you have asthma or an irregular heartbeat?” I was wondering if there were any contraindications for such almost watery eyedrops.
After the examination, I paid the bill, and was surprised at the size of the automated teller machine.
After leaving the ophthalmologist's office, I walked west on Takoyakushi Dori toward the pharmacy. It was still cold and the snow had not yet melted, so there was still snow in the park along the way. The photo below.
When I filled my prescription at the pharmacy, the pharmacist told me that they did not have any new medication in stock and asked me to wait a while for another pharmacy in the same chain to bring it to me. I waited for a while and was told that another pharmacy in the same chain would bring it to me. I got the medicine and left the pharmacy. It was almost noon, and when I got to the main street, I saw a new ramen store. There is another ramen store 100 meters away, and Kyoto has become completely covered with ramen stores.

今日は２か月ぶりの眼科の日でした。朝起きたら無理やり気合を入れて朝食をとって、出かけました。外は凍り付きそうなほど寒くて、バスを待つのが辛かったです。バスに乗ったら少し暖かかったですが、時間がかかって、ぐったりした状態でバスを降りました。
降りて少し歩いたら錦市場に着きました。久しぶりに錦市場を撮ったのが下の写真です。
さらに歩くと眼科に着きました。月曜日だからか患者さんがたくさんいました。今日は私は9:30から視野検査を受ける予約が入っていたので、少し待ったら名前を呼ばれて、検査室に誘導されたのですが、その途中にも色々な検査や、多分白内障と思われる手術を受けている人が所狭しといて、検査室に行くのに苦労しました。
まずは眼圧、視力の検査をして、別の検査室へ行って視野検査をしました。これが30分くらいかかる、大変しんどいものでした。額と顎を固定して、真っ直ぐ前を向いたまま、光が見えたらボタンを押す、これを30回くらい、両眼で60回くらい繰り返したのですが、途中で疲れてしまい検査中に３回ぐらい休みました。特に最初は涙目になって辛かったです。検査中は何回でもまばたきしていいとは言われていたのですが、まぶたをつりあげてテープで止められては、まばたきをしようにも上手くできなかったです。
さらに眼底の写真を撮って、ようやく診察へ。診察でも２人くらい待ちましたけど。
そしたら先生が「眼圧が少し高いから薬を変えます」と言いました。もう薬を変えるのは何回目かわかりませんが、今まで1日2回入れていた薬を変えることになりました。ただその前に「喘息や不整脈はないか？」と聞かれたのでないと答えましたが、あんなほとんど水みたいな点眼薬でも禁忌があるのか、と思いました。
診察が終わってお金を払ったのですが、自動精算機が設置されていて、そのあまりの大きさに驚きました。
そして眼科を出て、薬局目指して蛸薬師通を西へ歩きました。まだ寒かったので雪がなかなか溶けなくて、途中の公園には雪が残っていました。下の写真です。
薬局へ処方箋を出したら、薬剤師さんから新しい薬の在庫がないと言われ、同じチェーンの他の薬局から持ってくるからしばらく待ってくださいと言われ待ちました。そして薬を出してもらって薬局を出ました。もう昼近くになって、大通りに出たら新しくできていたラーメン店が下の写真です。しかし100m先にもラーメン店があるし、京都もすっかりラーメン店だらけになりましたね。
