Truly, coping with a heart break isn't easy, especially when you it came as a result of finding out the person was double dating. However,the solution isn't in double dating as well. For what it may, if one feels like they might go through a break up again and are not ready, then it's better to not go into a relationship rather. I don't think having someone to bounce back to after a heartbreak is a healer for the heart. It's rather a complication and cancer to it.
It's good to see you didn't allow it define your character. Even if the society has made it a norm and made the right thing look foolish, I believe all know what it right and ought to be done. And so, that which is right should be done.
