A Cubism, a very beautiful and abstract art, is marked by a strong spirituality, it seeks the essence of art and ends up using only vertical and horizontal lines and three primary colors, such as red, blue and yellow along with black and white which are the absence and summary of all colors.

One of the best known exponents of cubism is Piet Mondrian, his works had an enormous influence on the art of the twentieth century, influencing not only abstract painting and numerous styles, but also in fields such as design, architecture and fashion.

Seen from today, Mondrian's case is logical. His later analytical abstraction had to pass through cubism. He moved into abstraction, arriving at a style in which he limited himself to painting with thin vertical and horizontal strokes. Because of the simple nature of his paintings, Piet Mondrian's search for purity and beauty made him a leading figure in modern art.

He is one of my favorite modern artists, also one aspect that struck me about him is that he drew inspiration for his work from the New York music scene. Since after having used black lines in his works, he started using yellow grids and brightly colored squares to represent the appearance and personality of the city something quite interesting and an artistic criterion turned by him quite brilliant.

Designing a bus stop, and trying several proposals, I realized that its glass was very simple and that was not what I wanted, because this in conjunction with the wood was something very simple.

The dimensions of the structure are 5.50 mts x 8.00 mts with a total area of 44 m2, 5.50 mts x 8.00 mts, with a maximum height of 3.10 mts. As for the proposed materials used:

As for the proposed materials used:

  • Cedar Wood for the structure of the structure and the assemblies in the unions of the wood and the seats of the people.

  • Concrete for the bases.

  • Metal for the bolted joints.

  • Polycarbonate of different colors for the roofs.

  • Alucobond for the concrete covering.

Once the measurements were determined, I decided to give it a meaningful artistic touch.

Monochromatic View

After trying several proposals, I was inspired by the cubist style of Piet Mondrian, using the thick horizontal and vertical black lines that he used in his works in which the painting composed of only a few lines and some blocks of yellow, blue and red well balanced, creates a monumental effect.
