Museum heritage in the village Pomlyniv...

Today I am going to the funeral of the owner of this museum rarity..., which he has accumulated all his life, not wanting to change, improve anything. My husband's father lived a long life, but was he happy ... A man lived for 94 years, there were many difficulties and fears ... I rarely visited the village Pomlyniv, where my husband spent his summer as a child. The character of the deceased, to put it mildly, was not friendly. The grandchildren did not like meeting this grandfather. A sullen look from under bushy eyebrows. He was either silent or quarreled :)

The parents did not even give the keys to the house to the son, the fear was so strong that someone would not steal or damage the property! But old age and infirmity came, my grandfather no longer had the strength to quarrel and criticize, and then he no longer had the strength to walk and sit. I don't know if he realized then, while lying for three months, the value of this property compared to relationships and love ... I don't know. But the keys were given to his son, because he had to go to the village and plant potatoes. And my husband asked to go with him to help our daughter. The girl did not want to and resisted, but still agreed. This is how this photo collection, which I called "Museum Heritage in the Village Pomlyniv", was born.

People who have survived poverty save everything just in case - it may come in handy. A castle hangs on the old barn. Behind the door is a pile of old metal tools, a bottomless bucket and just various junk. Near the barn lies an old broken tile, many rails and dry branches, which my husband always chopped for firewood to burn in the stove.
Old, blue-painted doors are also preserved. In case they break, you will need to put somewhere. In the photo, they contrast well with the old wood!

Such a simple, modest life was for people who were accustomed to appreciate every thing, to save everything ... And poverty multiplied in their heads. I once heard this truth - if you can be satisfied with small, you will have little!

The old wood is covered with moss and it becomes a masterpiece of art created by time!
Old people usually love old things, they will feel harmonious among them! To keep up with the times, you need a lot of courage, detachment. It is difficult to get out of your comfort zone. Learn to throw away the old to make room for the new ...

The crumbling brick looks beautiful. Among all these things, it is good to be and reflect on the experience and wisdom of generations. To be in silence, but only as in the museum of antiquity and life that my children want to leave in the past ... And also to leave fears and superstitions there!

Horseshoe over the door - for happiness ... The cross painted on windows and doors as protection from evil spirits ... But I know that love in our heart is the best protection!

Rust eats things and makes us remember that the main wealth is relationships and love, which are imperishable ...

It's evening ... I came home from the funeral. Somehow it turned out so "accidentally - not accidentally" that I am writing this post on the day of the funeral of a man who has been storing things all his life, not allowing children to throw away and modernize anything. Destroying relationships through things ... And there is this museum, which will most likely remind generations of grandchildren, that the only thing you need to accumulate is love and care for each other.

And one day someone will light a great sacrificial fire to burn all the negative energy and clear the space for something new.

Sort:

Simplicity is a bliss. The story has touched my heart. We always fear of losing the our heritage and the memories it holds. The pictures tells a story that can be perceived by hearts. I agree that material things come and go but real relationship and love will live more than years. Sharing some !PIZZA and hugs of !LUV

You took so beautiful photos of that place and the story about your family touched my soul. You' re right, One day Simeone Will burn all the negative energy there. 💓

Oh, dear Silvia! I am extremely pleased that a person like you, a great artist, appreciated my photos! Thank you so much.

Getting teary-eyed while reading your post, I could simply imagine the kind of life your relative might have lived. The architectural heritage he has left behind as shown in his humble house with his personal belongings has surely accumulated a lot of sentimental value over the years, hence the fear of losing them. Those material things are definitely treasured ancestral items, however as you said:

Rust eats things and makes us remember that the main wealth is relationships and love, which are imperishable

So, there you have it. You've just told us the secret to real happiness in life. Thank you for this truly inspiring publication @olga.maslievich!
