Glad to learn that you got through the challenge of not being able to comprehend fully because of language. We do learn a lot from reading and probably that's one reason why more and more people are drawn to books because of the things and lessons we get from them.

let's not forget that schools and NBA's were not a match to a library, not before and not ever.
knowledge is guaranteed to oneself to have his own stronghold, it is not an ink-stamp for his degree-cards as he walks around as a certified learner with a tilted head.
A Great Wall will set him back mentally and emotionally , because learning is not a curriculum to follow

Aye aye to that @racemlaadhar :) I agree with all you said. And in addition, learning is a continuous process and should not stop. Thanks to books and many other forms of reading materials, we get unfathomable wealth from them. One can never be too learned to stop devouring knowledge :)
